After watching Banny get pincushioned by over zealous hunters and others the first day the patch went live, I had pretty much gave up hope on getting him. So I logged in last night, still perched on The Tree, and I see Banny flapping around and noooooo one is paying any attention to him. So I tamed him. He's so cool! Thanks for the encouragement folks.

I just got him as well. I flew into Hyjal and as soon as I entered the regrowth there he was on NPCscan. So I flew up and no one was paying him any attention so I spent the next 10 minutes trying to land on that ridiculous skinny tree when a dwarf hunter comes along. So I am on the tree and this guy is following him around, but I've already got him marked, from the 1st time I saw him. Anyway I drop the trap, fly up and pull him with arcane and tame hime. The Dwarf starts yelling at me and puts me on ignore. The thing is, the Dwarf had no idea how he was gonna tame the bird, he kept flying with him trying to figure it out. Oh well, I was in the right spot and I marked him 1st, I feel I was in the right!!! Any opinions?

I got Ban'thalos last night as well I was definitely not expecting to find it.
someone tried pulling it but ended up getting owned by the moonfires. at that point i dint even know the moonfires where from the bird.
so i tried getting myself on top of the tree (ended up dead).
finally manage to get on top of the tree i drop a trap and fly up to pull the bird. drop down and start taming then i noticed the trap wasn't going off so I ended up dead thought I was getting killed by a druid only to find out it was the pet.
so i move back to the tree pretty much expecting some other hunter trying to tame it but the hunters that where there were not interested.
so I keep continuing trying to tame it. long story short it took me over an half hour and more deaths that I could count XD.
But I finally tamed it with a pulling, conc shot, disengage combo which almost killed me to since the sneaky bird flew straight over my trap without triggering it. so I had to maneuver on the mountain side getting moonfired and almost falling of the mountain XD.
definitely one of the more fun tames since the ""ghost wolf " tame back then.
