Skarr
Skarr
So servers just came up from maintenance, and I hopped over to Molten Front to quickly look for any new pets for me.
I see Skarr spawn right in front of me, but I wasn't ready to tame him...and a night elf snags him from me before I can edge close enough to tame him.
That really...I don't feel like hunting anything now...

Re: Skarr
I feel your pain. Same situation for me, Except it was a BE Hunter that got aggro during tame for me.
I felt like literally slamming my face into my keyboard all night long.

Re: Skarr
Really, your best bet is to wait until the new wave of shinies shows up. Yes, this means you won't be the first person on your block, but... for example, THREE of my hunters now have Krush, when he was impossible to find by any means back in Wrath.
Hell, since Firelands opened, I've tripped over Madexx -twice-, when before I went for literally months without seeing hide nor scale of him. The FIrelands rares have much shorter spawn timers compared to pretty much every other rare, so... patience is a virtue, I think. Just wait until there's some other OMG SERVUR FURZT thing out there and then you should be tripping over funny colored fire spiders and rock cats every time you go out there.
Honestly, never MIND the other hunters trying to bogart the spawns... there's so many people out there questing 24/7 it's sheer dumb luck if ANYONE gets to tame something, because usually, the non-hunters will kill it for lulz. Not worth the migraine.

Re: Skarr
I don't know honestly. It may get better or it may get worse as more and more people unlock the areas that take them to the rares. I'd take a break to preserve sanity, but you never know what you'll bumble onto. I see the spiders lots in my travels and call people over. The only ones I've had trouble even SEEING are Skarr and Karkin and frankly I don't envy anyone going after them.

Re: Skarr
I don't think it's so bad on Nesingwary. The very first time I got there I saw Skarr killed by a 12 year old Worgen claiming that "if he doesn't get it then he'll kill it." I didn't see very much of him. After taming Skarr (and having a petopian make a lv.1 to send some rather opinionated & angry whispers to me.) I sat there 12-16hrs a day for a little under a week gathering spawn data and helping 6 random players catch a total of 3 cats and 3 crabs.
There was a NE who'd been camping there for 6 days, who i'd seen getting swarmed by petopians - firing traps everywhere and trying to muscle him out of the position he'd been standing at for the last 14 hours straight; it was almost sad to watch. He was one of the last people that I helped before leaving.
Long story short, everyone is capable of being a jerk and some people will surprise you; you'll get some friendly campers and then some real assholes buzzing around. x3
