I gave up camping for Poseidus awhile ago, after realizing that staring at open ocean for weeks on end just wasn't doing any good. However, I've been popping back there now & then randomly--between battlegrounds, or after dailies, or just before I log off.

Today has been hell for me--I won't go into details, but I am really down right now, and it's not something minor. And while it's nothing that a rare spawn in WoW will fix, it is a nice little bright spot in the day

I checked all of Poseidus's spawnpoints. As I approached the last one, I tabbed out. Npc Scan's drums went off--and tabbing back in, heart racing, I saw... Captain Florence.

Fine...

Closed the target window, only to have the addon INSTANTLY blare again. I blinked. It was showing Poseidus!! After all this time, too--I quickly targetted him, but there was no icon on my minimap. Confused, I made a quick circle--lost the target, panicked, worrying someone else would tag him. I swam to the spawnpoint, and found him swimming about; I didn't dare stop to screenshot him until he was tagged.

He dropped the reins--of course--and a leather chest that's going for ~4k on AH. The money neither interests or bothers me, though--the idea of this mount is fantastic

In the Durotar canyons:

...Aaaand, lurking near lowbie zones... CLEARLY the intended use for this mount!

If anyone else gave up camping--check back now & then, as it just paid off for me! I haven't seen *anyone* camping the spawnpoints about the last twenty times I've checked, either, and the only one I've seen up for sale on my realm has dropped steadily from 200k to 30k asking price (and still isn't selling), so competition is probably dying or dead

P.S. Apparently, judging by his sound when you mount him, the Subdued Seahorse thinks he's a kodo now

I am randomly checking his spawns from time to time too, JUST in case. Oh idea! I'm going to just park a lvl 85 toon that I'm not playing ATM on his spawns, then I can just use him as a Poseidus / Burgy Blackheart checker Anyway I digress..

Is that the south Spawn point you nabbed him at? And typically did you just swim to the spawn points or fly above the water?

Ooo! Congrats! I definitely have to camp for that at some point. And a lot of others <.< But definitely seapony! My plan was originally to sit on spawn points once classes start up again, while studying. But Maybe I'll start checking them out every once and a while. I love Vashj'ir anyways

There's been some for sale on my realm.. but pretty sure they just put it up as a "HAHA LOOK WHAT I GOT!" thing and don't actually expect anyone to buy it.. judging by the price.

It was the spawnpoint in the southeast, right near the ally/horde-specific rare Captains and Burgy. Oh--and I used to fly above the water, but when I calculated it out, it's only about a one minute difference, and when flying I tended to do more overshooting of the spawnpoints and having to circle back, so I just have been doing it underwater
