I have been on Aegwynn since I started wow, many on the sever say it is dead. Today I saw a great act of kindness that I wanted to share.
I just got to the front with my Hunter and I wanted to tame Deth, I look a few times and found him at 4:15 server time. Well i was going to do the pet sacrifice trick but realized it was harder than I thought, I was struggling to rez my temp spider. To make it worse a horde hunter kept setting it's spider on me to mess me up. After two failed attempts I tried again, and I noticed I had some help, a ally shammy. Then a whole group of random allys came some hunter others not. They all helped me with the tame, and I got him in about 5 min with their help. I thanked them all profusely. Then we went our merry way. Aegwynn is a good sever with good people in it and I will never leave (neither will my new Deth )
Runetotem has amazing horde players, sprinkled with a few equally amazing alliance players. I've had other hunters tell me I'm the most awesome person they've met on the server due to my willingness to camp pets for them while they do other things. This is just good karma. I've had people alert me to pets before, and I'm just returning the favor. I don't want to be known as the server's goodie-goodie (though I will take it if they give me that title!), I just like to help when I can.
Speaking of other people helping, I tamed Deth'tilac without knowing about the pet sacrifice method to drop his health, so I was kiting him for nearly 30 minutes before a warlock shows up and asks what I'm doing and offers to help. We get him down to tamable health, and I walk away with my new purple spider, 45 minutes after starting the tame. ><
I offered the warlock 2k for his efforts twices, and twice he declined. I eventually told him that if he didn't take it, I was mailing it to him constantly until he just accepted it or got tired of the spam. He said he really didn't want gold, but took it after my insistence finally. A rogue also showed up when Deth was around 30k health and helped dps him down, but he was a little late to the fight. Not that I don't appreciate his effort. I also offered him 500g for helping with stuns and such a few times. He just said absolutely not and was not able to be swayed, so I didn't pay him. He didn't help as much as the lock, tho, so I guess it kinda makes sense. He even said he didn't deserve any gold sense he came in late to the fight. I told him any help at all is appreciated.
As for alliance, I was just sitting in Ban'thalos's tree with two NElf hunters also camping him. Banny spawned, one unafk NElf tagged him first, so I let him have first go. He somehow went splat and died and didn't return for awhile. The other NElf was unafk, apparently her NPCscan woke her up or something, she tried her hand at taming, sadly backed up and fell off, going splat. I was shocked. They BOTH failed!? What!? Banny was mine!? The trap set by the NElves broke (likely cuz of their deaths) I hadn't had my own trap set, but for some reason, Banny just melee'd me instead of using his deadly moonfire and I tamed him easily. The NElves, upon finally rezzing (they had to spirit rez, poor fellows), /grats and /cheered me, so it was a happy feeling and made me feel less like an ass and less like I stole the tame from them. I guess they realized they messed up and the tame was now mine. It was a good feeling. Normally, on my server, Night Elf hunters are the biggest dicks/bitches in the game. These two proved me wrong. If I knew your names, NElves, I'd thank you on the forums! <3
