Re: New Memeber here. Pet Question
As a BM I usually run with a shale spider, devilsaur, raptor/hyena, spirit beast, and something else, normally a cat, if I am doing anything major. My King Krush gets the most use in instances and raids.
If you are focusing mainly on PvP, it again is mostly on play style, but I would highly recommend a Shale spider, spider or silthid for their web ability.
*shrug*
The way things are set up these days, the only real difference between pets of the same type (ferocity, cunning or tenacity) are the buffs that they give, to my understanding. I would say, if you have the spaces for them, just try one of everything and see what fits your play style the most. There are no set 'have to have' pets anymore. Blizzard tried to even things out so players wouldn't have to always raid with a cat/wolf and could instead choose what they would like to use, instead of what they 'have' to use.

Re: New Memeber here. Pet Question
For marks, your most effective pet out of that list is going to be the spider. The croc slow is okay, but if you're constantly using chimera shot and conc shot for the slows (which you should be), it's a little redundant. (That's the same reason chimaera pets aren't quite as fantastic for PvP as people think they are; we already have very effective slows.) Monkeys have a blind effect, which is basically giving yourself a second scatter shot, but that seems like a LOT of micro-management. The raptor is nice for the sunder effect, but it's really more of a PvE debuff. You could check out dogs and crabs for their snares as well.
Mind you, my troll hunter uses his croc no matter what, so it IS personal preference in the end.

Re: New Memeber here. Pet Question

My usual stable consists of Hyena, cat, Corehound, and my lava turtle. the last slot is saved for rotating different pets in/out, but usually tends to have a spirit beast or one of my flappys (chimera, dragonhawk, windserpent, or seagull <--not so flappy, but really great for laughs in dungeons)

But yeah, you can go all-out dps as BM, which is why I see spirit beasts most commonly. You get the strongest of the dps buffs (agility) and heal over time.

Re: New Memeber here. Pet Question
Marks has a shorter cd on silencing shot for the interrupt than any of the three interrupting pet families. Generally speaking, you won't need it.Harvoc wrote:If you're PvPing in MM, what I recommend is a wasp or bat for the stun; a monkey for the disorient (it doesn't share a cooldown with Scattering Shot); a bird of prey or scorpid for the disarm; a gorilla, moth, or nether ray for the spell interrupt and silence (both the gorilla and moth cast theirs when there's a spell being cast while nether rays cast whenever it's off cooldown); a spider, dog, or crab for the root, and a crocolisk or warp stalker for the snare. If you're PvPing in BM, I recommend a spirit beast for the heal, a shale spider for the stun, a rhino for the knockback, a silithid for the root, and a chimera for the slow.
