Congratulations! I found Loque today too! Must be a good luck day; I looked all through WOTLK and never found him!

Grats! The Northrend rares actually seem RARER after Cata. At first, they weren't but now I never spot a tail end of Loque or Gondria. Haven't seen Aotona once, in WOTLK OR Cata. She must share a spawn with Krush and Loque.

Here's my Loque; I named her Tehua, after part of the name for jaguar in ... I forget which Mesoamerican language, one of them.

About a month ago I found Aotona and then almost instantly afterward Krush; I wonder if taming the first caused the second to spawn?

Anyway, about to try my luck and see if anything else will spawn for me today.

OMG could you please post an image of Aotona? I want to see her up close and personal. I've wanted her so long.

Ohhhhh my gods.....I want her so bad. I have even had a name picked out for her in the years I've wanted her. She is so beautiful. Any idea what her spawn times are? Like, really late at night or what?

I have Aotona as well, I would assume the spawn timer is pretty standard, 6+ hours or so. But certainly check at night when people are scarce, that should help. Best of luck on getting her!

You can see why I've kept her even though we've not, as yet, bonded at all; I haven't even managed to think of a name for her. She matches Mindala's blue hair so perfectly.

I'm pretty sure she's on the same 6+ hour schedule as most of the Northrend rares, with the same ties to other spawns (the suggested max number of rares 'up' at once, etc).

(edit) Inspired by this, she now has a name, Annaleka, and I'm taking her to Molten Front to do dailies with! About time we spent some time together.

Why can't flying pets stay materialized while flying?

Quite honestly, Aotona seems to always be found by pure luck. I found my pretty polly on a fly-by. I wasn't even looking for her, I was looking for Krush (who I finally managed to find today).

Grats on the tame~

Was up til 3am looking for Aotona last night, and she still eludes me! I'm wondering if this poor bird got lost in the Cataclysm. Did Deathy eat her?

Northrend rares have been spawning like crazy within the past week. I managed to tame all four spirit beasts within a couple of days without camping. They were just sitting there waiting to be tamed and no other hunters were around. After camping them as much as I could over the last couple of months, with no luck, I couldn't believe it. I keep seeing them too as I camp for TLPD off and on, or on my way to buy yet another mysterious egg, and have been able to help other 3 other hunters get them. I did have one negative experience though after I had located Skoll for a friend. Another hunter, from my on faction no less, came up and killed him while I had him in a freezing trap and was about to summon my friend. I was just shocked. If they had wanted the tame, I'd have let them. First come, first serve, right? But to just kill Skoll like that was so pointless.

EDIT: Just helped that friend nab Skoll, minutes ago!
