Do traps work on him anymore, at all? Even ice or snake? I keep reading that they should slow him, but they don't. How the heck can you get enough space to revive pet without him resetting? Every time he got far enough away that I could revive, he reset and went back and there was no way to get him again that time.
I thought this shadow priest was helping me but then he killed it Thought it'd drop stuff. Kept sending in his shadow beast thing.
Does he have a tiny hitbox for traps? Because he walked right over them and they didn't seem to affect him.
Concussion didn't seem to ever leave him concussed enough to have the time to revive. I was unlucky on my disengages, too, not getting much distance with 'em.
At least once he reset without losing line of sight.
I noticed that sometimes he would walk right over my traps without triggering them. Not really sure what was up with that, but when I managed to get the traps far enough out in front of him that he had to drag his whole fat self over them, they always activated. I'm wondering if it was my tiny bit of latency ensuring that every time I dropped a trap too close to him, he would walk over it entirely before it was fully laid out and ready to trigger...if that makes any sense.
I made sure I was Survival specced for Entrapment and paying close attention to my traps' cooldowns. Snake trap never did anything for me because they died before he even started a Deth Strike. However, I had a lot of luck with Concussive Shot -> Frost Trap -> Entrapment kicking in. I would disengage just as I Concussive Shotted, then rez my pet and disengage again. It is a really tricky place for kiting because of the weird terrain and the difficulty keeping him out of the way of everyone doing Shadow Warden dailies. He is in a terrible place.
Good luck! He's definitely a frustrating tame, but I hear he's totally worth it.
Perhaps that was it; I was shooting the traps kinda under the front of him, but perhaps they need to be in front of everything including all the legs & feelers? I'll try that next time.
Does haste speed up revive pet? I expect it does, which means if I pop a haste flask first it might help ...
If you need more haste to get the revive off, then you're not far enough away from him. If you're 40 yards away, it should be enough....which is why I asked about serpent sting. It keeps Deth in combat and keeps his buff from stacking.
I still say the easiest way is to get someone like a druid to root it for you, but that always runs the risk of melee's ganking it due to the root method's bugs.

Ahh! Thanks, Kalliope -- that's probably the issue, then. I just read the description of his buffs in Wowhead, and "Deth Metal" is reset every time he takes damage -- obviously while casting Revive Pet I'm not doing auto shots, but the periodic ticks from Serpent Sting would do the trick.
