I replied, "Aww, I actually would prefer Karkin over Skarr, but ty for the heads up."
They said they thought it might be several hours or so until Karkin or Skarr would appear again, and this other player actually went to double check the spawn timer and reported that to me, to which I thanked them and then continued on with finishing out my dailies.
I completed those, and was back in Stormwind working on some other things, when a little while later I get another tell from the same player from earlier saying, "Karkin is up!"
"lol that figures" I said, seeing as I was no longer near there, and I figured by the time I would be able to get back there, it would probably be tamed or killed.
"Hurry!", the kind stranger whispered to me, and I figured, what the hey, it was worth a try!
I started my race back to the Molten Front, and while on my way, the other player mentioned there were two other hunters who just arrived there, but they didn't look like they wanted Karkin as neither one of them were going for it. My adrenaline was really kicking in at this point, I got thru the portal and starting running towards Fire Plume Peak, and I saw Karkin sitting on a floating rock straight ahead! I had already switched to my MM spec before leaving SW, and I knew the strategy for taming Karkin from having read information on it on these very forums. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to tame him from the ledge, so I hopped over to the closest floating rock (one that wasn't breakable), and as soon as I landed on it, I was close enough to draw Karkin's aggro.
I hit Tame Beast, saw he was going to throw barrage at me, and hit him quickly with Silencing Shot, then hit Tame Beast again and hoped for the best! I already had lost some health when I first aggro'd him, and then he knocked away more health with another fireball. He was in the process of attempting barrage again, when the timer finally finished on Tame Beast, and he was mine!
My new friend who had alerted me to Karkin's appearance congratulated me, and I thanked them repeatedly, I was soo happy and grateful! At first I didn't see where they were, but then I looked over, and saw them standing on a floating rock further away, so I waved to them and thanked them again, and asked if I could add them to my friends list.
