A hunter loses his best friend

So today i have a sad story to tell. I use to have Skoll who i named Raiju. Raiju has been with me since i basically turned 80 he watched me grow from a confused newb to a unstoppable raiding machine. Today i lost him. How you ask? Well after doing a Forge of Souls i decided i wanted to use a rename scroll and give him a new name. After i use said scroll i right click on his portrait to click Rename. Well at this very moment i got a random group invite and somehow that forced my hunter to abandon his best friend Raiju. as you maybe aware this has sadden me greatly since i worked so hard to obtain him. I sent a ticket thinking maybe they will give him back since it was a glitch in the game but no. GM basically said thank you for reporting this but you must tame him again. So now i sit here in Storm Peaks waiting in the arctic temperatures in hopes of bringing my precious Raiju home. So wish me luck as i sit here waiting for him to return.

I got him back! Yes! Raiju has been returned home i missed him so much D= i couldnt even bring myself to raid without him yesterday T_T but he is back and now im happy! =D....strangely enough since i had my Loque’nahak out to use while he was gone they sent him to me through the mail xD

Something strange has been going on today, well, yesterday now... I was waiting on my buddies to log in and decided to swap around my pets checking various DPS on each and just looking at different thing's when I got disconnected from the server. Alas I have comcast and today has been horrendous for random drops on their ISP in our area. Several calls to them only produced a generic, "... Yeap, we're doing maint. ... "

Anyway, I get back in game and my pets are all switched around and I have a different out than the one I know I had on the disconnect earlier. I chalk it up to my poor memory and start my swapping again only to watch my internet connection die again just minutes later. This time when I get back in my stable is empty. I mean all my pets are just gone... I quickly put a ticket in, but no GM has gotten back with me yet. From your story I'm now worried I'll get a macro response saying the same thing...

I realize your pet is much harder to replace. I once had the Spirit wolf awhile back, but my plain textured pets have meaning to me and I hate the idea that they're just "poof! " gone because of either Blizzard or my ISP glitching up... Silly as it sounds I want my original pets back even though they're not rare spawns.

After today I think Blizzard should back up our pets along with our characters somehow. If they already do, why is it so hard to simply replace them with those backups..? Customer support has really tanked lately compared to how it use to be. The last couple of tickets I've had in were answered via some automated macro system and not even a real person. It took me several tries to get a real GM to speak with me and by then I had waited several hours to get a curt, one sentence response. Doesn't bode well for me it sounds...

I hope you can quickly replace your old friend. I have my fingers crossed they can fix my problem and I don't get the same response you did, although I fear I will... Good luck... Roo.

Well i didnt get Raiju just because he was a rare spawn. before him i struggled on find a pet i liked i tried so many but non ever stuck to me. i caught a spirit beast before Loque’nahak (who i still have) but something was missing. when i saw the first pic of Skoll from PTR here on Petopia i knew he was the one. after the patch went live i camped for 3 days straight got maybe 10 hours of sleep the whole time until i got him. You may say im strange but whenever i play a pet class in any mmo i get attached to my chars pets. Raiju was my most favorite pet ever and when i lost him it has literally devastated me x.x

That is just barbaric that they won't help you. It was not your fault, it was the fault the their game which you pay to play. Maybe some of them just don't get it about hunters. Try for another GM. And good luck. My heart goes out to you. If Kyndri disappeared, I would be devastated too. You are not strange at all for getting attached! Not a bit. I'd say you're in good company.

And, Roonok, I really hope that's just a temporary glitch. It could be. And I agree with pet backup. No offense to warlock pets, but our hunter pets are a huge part of our character (at least for me) and I don't mean just DPS. We find them, tame them, feed them and a lot of us love them in a virtual kinda way. It's not just, oh, go get another wolf.

hmm try again because I had the same problem, I was pulling Spanky ( Ghondria) out of the stable and I was mounted. Well Spanky didnt come out and he was lost. I talked to a GM and told him what happened and he said ok he will see what is going on and he gave me my Spanky back.

Yea, the GM's can tell what pets you recently had in your stables. That was a load of crap.

I am so sorry for your loss. I would be heartbroken to! This is one of those things Blizz just sucks for.

I noticed some really weird glitches last night and at first I thought it was just me. I was doing some dungeons last night and noticed my pet being somewhat difficult to control which is rare. I set him to "passive" and continued on. The out of the blue he charges off attacking a mob. I had not touched the defense or aggro button. I saw that the passive macro was still indicated but sure enough Snort was fighting for all he's worth. It took hit the passive button 6 times before he came back and stayed. Thinking it a fluke I queued back up for another dungeon and waited. Finally got into a new dungeon and the same thing happen. He was set on passive but took off fighting on his own. Once out of the dungeon I logged out of that character and logged into my low level hunter (who also has Snort cause I love him so much). Queued her up and ran through a dungeon. Not a single mishap. But when the dungeon changed and we got into Razorfen Kraul that's when other glitches started to happen. Not only was the pet attacking on passive mode but the mobs we coming out of the floor a couple times. Not respawn but appearing out of the and attacking the group.

I also had a difficult time accessing my stables.

Well whenever the realms are up ill toss in another ticket. Maybe ill get a better GM that can help me out a bit more. but for the time being i guess ill have to use Dash (my Loque’nahak) to travel with.

sadly i think it has a lot to do with what GM you get. Some of them really will help you. Others are more of the sucks to be you type. So i'd keep trying to get a nice GM lol! But that is horrible!!! I'm not going to play my hunter for a little while just in case this is some bug in their system...Have king krush, Skoll, Loque'nahak and 2 non rare pets....but i would /wrists if any of them were gone especially my Krush <3 D: Good luck to you bud! Yeah, that's a load of crap, that GM. I can see if you had tamed a level 5 boar or something, but a rare in a high-traffic area? That's crap! Especially since it wasn't your fault. If I were you, I'd definitely be putting in tickets, emails, you name it. Man, I can't imagine if something like that happened to my Apollyon or Shikon or Tetsusaiga. The man-hours spent to get them the first time is bad enough, let alone having to do it again over something you can't control!

I wish you the very best of luck in getting your pet back, and getting a GM that doesn't have his head up his rear-end.

Yeah, reticket that. You just got one of the lazy GMs that can't bother to help with slightly more complex requests. You'll get that nice one, and I assure you you'll have Raiju back.

Wow that is amazing. I had let Arcturis go in a fit of omg I need more slots for real pets rage. This happened the day before they said something about the stable changes! >.> I did petition a GM and got my Halley back very quickly. So ya, I would totally try another GM because if they did it for me, I can't imagine them not replacing yours.

Okay, took way to long for a GM to finally address my stable issue, but at last I got one... After several long minutes of waiting for the GM to check through whatever it is they check through, my pets were returned to me without any trouble... So, they can bring them back if they want to, or perhaps it's situational, I don't know... Anyway, my old buds are home again...

Congrats! Lol that must of been a funny way to get him. When I was still in the noob stage, somthing glitched and I lost my Snarler. I had a connection with him, and i love him to peices. Now when I retame him he doesn't have the feel.
