I've been playing my little Worgen hunter Mettle without much idea for pets in mind. Originally when I made her I decided I wanted Shadowclaw(?), the dark striped riding model kitty. I tamed him and called him Claw and he levelled with me for a short while, though as I travelled or remembered shiny pets I'd stable the "old" ones in favour of new ones. Around her mid-40's, Mettle bumped into her "soul pet", the black Feralas wolf whom she named Howle. Along with Howle, Mettle also enjoys the company of her white tallstrider and red windserpent above all others, though at the moment due to limited pet slots she tends to just bring Howle around with her. However now she's in her 60's, she feels inclined to bring a cat with her for dungeons. Of course she has quite a collection of lovely cats, however it's not the same if you don't have that "bond" with one of them. So I tried a brown lynx, which was nice, but then I remembered the old Claw I'd tamed ages ago who'd been gathering dust in the stable ever since.
I was a bit surprised when Claw clicked so well after all this time, especially since I'd more or less retired him to the stable. Mettle loves running with the giant cat beside her, as many of the other cats just look so *small* next to a character as tall as a Worgen or a Tauren :/ But Claw seems to have the right bulk and looks quite good by her side too. He needs a rename though, haha.
SO. Who else has done this - namely, tamed a pet, forgotten about it but then stumbled on it again later and found a bond there? Share your stories
