Kitten's Atrium Camp

So, today on campus, there was this REALLY cute guy, and the tables were all full.. he was using the stone circle thing around the central pillar as a table.. and since it's a fun place to set up anyways, I decided to set myself up for my break maybe 5 ft from him. He was really good looking. Couldn't help but occasionally glance up.. But, the social phobia kicked in, and I, of course, couldn't try and strike up a conversation, especially since I didn't even know anything about him. Then I figured "well.. I do kinda gotta use the bathroom" and figured I'd ask if he'd watch my stuff for a minute while I did. Unfortunately, just as he took his headphones off, the people at the table next to us answered :/ so.. Damn! He kept glancing up too <.< But then, I tend to look for signs in EVERYTHING, so I don't usually pay them much heed, as I've seen false things in the past, heh. He was probably just wanting a break from the monitor, or looking for someone else.

So, I got to talking with Nahale, and OMG best metaphor ever. He came up with the idea of treating it like a camp for hot guys With looking for rare spawns, and testing spawn timers (seeing if, for example, that guy will show up in the Atrium at the same time again on wednesday, or on monday). And I LOVE the idea It's a great way to put a different mindset on trying to meet people, which I have a really hard time with because of my.. issues.. heh. Moderate to severe anxiety can be really uncool sometimes, heh.

Then there was the idea of putting up a camping journal Cause while pressure is a bad thing, being cheered on and encouraged is definitely a good thing And if I can get some advice interpretting any signals/non-signals.. or on the first approach, even better, heh.

So, here's my Atrium camping journal!

So far, I've had one appealing spawn, but no contact yet. We shall see how tomorrow goes!

So, I'm sitting here parked again... No interesting spawns. At least none that aren't likely to be already tapped.. or that aren't in a pack, which I seriously doubt I'd be able to solo just yet.

I find myself wondering what one should equip while camping for cute guys... Hmm...

Either way, I've got about an hour and a half before my next class.. so will probably park myself for a while and see what spawns

(seriously, this is kind of a lot of fun, thinking of it this way. Usually the thought of trying to make some connections would have me terrified.. and yes, I mean terrified.. to the point of having a fight or flight response, and feeling nauseous, heh. But I was almost giggling outloud thinking about it this way, once I started thinking about it like this, not to mention looking forward to it! we'll see how it goes)

So... There's really not many spawns at all today. Nothing that's really catching my eye anyways. It's leaving me bored... There is one on the other side of the zone, but I have a feeling it would be neutral, and completely unreceptive to any attempt at a facepull (read.. he seems pretty busy with homework and headphones, heh). I don't think it's the same spawn as yesterday. I might go move somewhere else for a bit though. Kind of bored here at the moment. Maybe I'll go patrol around, and see if there's any good roamers, or other spawn locations, heh.

You might try popping by other spawn points. Maybe you've been in that location too long. Is there a place where you can get something to drink? That gives you a patrol excuse that seems natural.

I'm too broke to afford something to drink >.< I ended up starting to patrol towards my class looking for a better spot to park. Then my sister texted me, so I went back for 15 minutes til my class started (where I am now, heh)

I do love these camping logs! Sounds like you've found a very attractive spawn that might become a very nice...pet. Best of luck in catching this rare!

Though, if we keep this up, this could get quite dirty quite quickly with all the animal and taming references...yeah.

I'm glad other people are finding this amusing as well It's.. I'm not sure if I can say giving me confidence yet, but it's at least helping me to giggle about the idea.. rather than end up terrified and just go sit in a corner and.. wait.. hah.

Yes... I can totally understand that, that's why I'm going to ask people to keep their comments in check slightly <.< My plan is that only the already corrupted will get any dirty references However, If anyone feels like making a response that MAY seem a bit much, I'm open to PMs And Also, if a mod feels that a tag or warning is needed, I'm more than willing to except that It's worth it for being able to actually THINK about doing something like this.

Haha, now THAT might get a bit creepy... If I were to start randomly taking pictures of all the cute guys <.< However.. Let's say.. It's dark hair and light eyes that tend to grab my attention most, with the hair being a slightly higher priority That said, I'm also not limiting my focus, but definitely that's what really catches my eye, haha.

I'll have another camping session today about the same time as the one on monday, so we'll see how it goes! Expect updates! Hmm.. unless my lab partner wants to actually go do work... >.> We have a project to start. I'll try and fit the camp in though I might be able to go on my other break. Was kind of hoping to see if the one had a mon/wed timer though >.> (aside from one-day-a-week classes, our rotation is generally mon/wed/fri, mon/wed, or tues/thurs)

So, I'm set up in a similar place as on monday. Don't see anything up at the moment, But I am positioned such that I can see all the main entry points, without having to look around too much. No second sighting of that first one from what I can tell, but then.. it's a big campus, and this is just one of many hangout/break locations.

Actually, there's one.. over by the program councelling office.. but it's difficult to see any details from here, and judging from the textbook, it's a bit more likely he's a bit lower level than I'd like, heh.

We'll see what comes up in the next hour or so

I had kind of hoped to get here with a table free... Or maybe a potential spawn sitting at one with available seats.. as that could be one way to try and get some contact made, but it's actually quite full here today.

Don't you hate it when BEFORE you start camping you see things spawning constantly, then as soon as you decide "hey, I should try" they all stop? Maybe it's just that thurs/friday spawn timers suck big time... Oh well, still almost an hour left on my break, so maybe I'll get lucky.

Hmm... Seems there might be something right behind me... why does it have to be BEHIND me? I'm with a classmate too, so I don't exactly want to shift position, as she's on the other side of the table. Hard to try a facepull when you can't even try and aim for eye contact, heh.

Hmm, you have said you like learning about lots of things - perhaps consider getting a working knowledge of EM interference and the directed introduction of such? (read: hack something together to hijack his earphones remotely )

So, yesterday the guy scattered before I could think of anyway to try and draw aggro. So I'm set up again, with that person from a few of my classes. There looked to be a few potential spawns clustered when I first got here, but I guess they had a class as they despawned pretty much when I got here. Seen a few pating by, but nothing coming close enough to try a face pull. I'll be hanging around after my class too though, as my sister is gonna buy me some lunch, so... We'll see. Maybe I'll manage something.

You can always take a peek at their coursebooks or etc and see if anything strikes a chord (same prof, or a related course subject, etc).

Talking shop (aka geek talk) about something is always a good icebreaker, if nothing else...

Yeah, that's what I'd love to try and do. Problem is not everyone pulls out their books, or drags their textbooks to campus (I know I'm one of them... damn science texts are HEAVY), and then the headphone thing makes it difficult too, as I feel really bad about interrupting people...

And yeah.. I wish I'd had this idea in my first year (though... that was a bit too soon for me.. but.. could have started as friends.. heh), as this guy was talking about all his aquariums... and how he even had cuttlefish (I'm sorry,, but those things are ADORABLE)... and was pretty freaking cute too...

Now I just keep my eye open for anything. Hopefully I'll spot something this semester... if my labs/tutorials weren't so packed (some are even overfilled) I would totally try and set my self up next to nice spawns.

Sadly, no time for camping today Had to meet up with my lab/project partner for some work on my break, and was too busy to scan the room. That said... I think I've come to the conclusion that I think there MAY be a pretty decent looking spawn next door <.< Who my room mates are apparently pretty buddy buddy with. No idea if he's already tapped, or what other traits he might have, but maybe I'll make it a point to go up when I hear people, just to say hi... <.< At the very least it'll be practice for attempting facepulls, and getting used to it.
