I've been casually after Karkin for a little while now. I'd do the Molten Front dailies, following that stupid slow druid through the fire and such when I logged on, then would check back now and then in case Karkin had spawned. I wasn't spending hours standing there waiting for him. Instead I was logging out up by his spawn point so I could work on alts and check back now and then.
Now I dunno where I got the idea, but thought Karkin only had one spawn point. I know Skarr has two, but I thought Karkin only spawned at the northern one and shared it with Skarr. Yesterday, when I logged in, NPCscan went off. Karkin! But he wasn't there in front of me. Okay, must be a hunter pet, but...nope...a red dot on the map down at Skarr's other spawn point. I trotted over to check. For a while there, we had some hunters on Argent Dawn who'd tame the rares, give them the same name as the NPC, and park them on or near the spawn points for some reason. That wasn't the case, though. It was the real Karkin.
Somehow I screwed up the timing on the first tame, but the second time I got 'im. He's now named Hutch (I named Skarr Starsky) and took the last stable slot I had.
I took a bunch of screen shots, but didn't get around to uploading them anywhere. Heck, everyone here has seen plenty of screenies of Karkin anyway.
