Re: oiled wolf
It takes a few tries. They have to kill it exactly when the tame ends or use the alliance quest, then spam revive pet.
Re: oiled wolf

Re: oiled wolf
I'm trying to do this myself but it isn't working. Do we still have to use the macro "/script PetAbandon()" or did they hotfix that? I can't remember...
Also I have read in the two threads that you need to have two stable slots open to do it. Is this true?
Thanks in advance!

Re: oiled wolf
I don't think you need to have 2 stables open, I aquired my wolf with just one--the pet abandon method is iffy, they TRIED to hotfix it but I hear rumors of people still successfully taming pets with the macro, such as Princess with the bow or one of the ghostpaw runners.
This was my method, if it helps any (:
My boyfriend and I both flew out to Borean to the oil area, I had 1 stable slot open and used no macro, this is how I did it in about 10, 15 minutes.
>Start the tame
>Have your friend do a move capable of one-shotting said wolf at the very last milisecond of the tame.
> Hit revive pet as quickly as possible, (Don't spam it, it has a cooldown! You have to hit it at just the right second, once.) if you see the yellow 'ding' animation, signalling that your pet has leveled up, it didn't work.
>If you did it correctly and saw no animation, you'll likely rez an oiled wolf. (:

Re: oiled wolf
i hope this helps other ppl in gave up and then another wolf cought my eye a white saber worg she is now my second fav pet named her icicle she has pulled me away fro her oiled brethren
Re: oiled wolf
I invited an Alliance friend of mine recently who had the Lupus Pupus quest. It took us several tries. The best time to tame was right before the wolf stops to eat. Timing must be adjusted thereabouts because of Haste.
Good luck!
Good luck!

Re: oiled wolf
Thank you Zuilu -- I will try that today!!!Zuilu wrote: This was my method, if it helps any (:
EDIT:
Got him! Thank you Zuilu! Here's a pic, and thanks to Starri/Santripi for the help!
Edit #2: One other question-- just to make sure I understand correctly. Does the oil appearance go away if you or the pet dies? Or is it only in BGs/Arenas?

Re: oiled wolf
Yay, grats Araela His oil coat will NOT dissapear on death, but I think he'll get wiped if you enter arena, since all buffs get wiped when you enter arenas. He should be safe for everything else though.

Re: oiled wolf
Lone Hunter! Wish he wasn't so hard/annoying to tame now. I tamed when the macro worked and I didn't have to rely on timing so much as luck and ended up getting him my second try. I have never tried to kill method, though its tempting because I'd like to have an oily wolf again. Sadly I abandoned mine, thinking I could just tame him again anytime I wanted. Which I still can, but its way more annoying now. Haha.

Re: oiled wolf
Haha thanks! Yeah I decided to go with a Star Trek theme for my pets. Sadly names like Kirk and Data are RESERVED! I did have a "Tiberious" for awhile, and when I had green madexx he was Scotty. My Neelix has always been a boar (it was Grunter before, but decided the burning boar would be highly amusing since he is a chef!).Meggers wrote:Neelix! Hi. Excuse me? Does the kill method work on ghostpaw runners even if they don't disappear?
