Later today I went to off chance find Ban'thalos or just camp and there he was. Ban'thalos was much, much trickier. I tried all kinds of tricks but the one that worked is getting on the very tip of the tree behind Malorne's statue and freeze-trapping from there. It took me over a dozen tries and a half dozen deaths. I almost felt sorry for the Worgen Hunter (Troll Hunter here) who was also trying with the help of a Mage but in the end I won fair and square and hats off to them for not pet-blocking me by killing Ban'thalos as I was taming.
That's all the spirit beasts released so far I have tamed. Made my day.
