Multiple rares and timers
So if you see a rare in the Basin, what are the chances there is another one ready to pop? Do you think you have a few hours or should you pull an all nighter?

Re: Multiple rares and timers
I first saw King Krush at 2:30 a.m. on a Sunday morning. He was killed while I was waiting for someone to help me tame, and at about 5:30 a.m. I went to bed (I was so frustrated I couldn't fall asleep for a while). I woke up at about 8:30 just to get a head-start on my search, and stayed up looking for three hours and took a nap at 11:30. My brother was on by this time and said he'd help look for me while I slept. I woke up at 1:30 and resumed my search until well into the evening (taking small breaks here and there). I never did find him on Sunday. However, on Monday morning at approximately 8:40 I found him patting around the Glimmering Pillar, and tamed him right at about 9:00 a.m. So all in all there were about 30 hours between my first and second sighting. Now, during that time I didn't give a hoot about any other rares so I wasn't really looking for them. Not sure if someone found and killed Krush during those thirty hours (during one of my breaks or something), or if it really was thirty hours before he respawned.
Edit: This had nothing to do with your question, lol. Sorry about that. If it helps, I found and tamed Acturis that Saturday night at about 10:30, and released him for Loque'nahak when my husband found him on Tuesday night around 10:30 again.

Re: Multiple rares and timers
Most people have come to agree that the three rares of SB all share the same spawn timer. If one pops, another will spawn later. The exact timing still hasn't been figured out yet. Some people say 6 hours, some say 12 hours. Then of course, a few people have reported seeing them spawn at an hour interval. It's still pretty random. I recommend getting ready for a long haul.

In all honesty I think trying to figure out the secrets behind the spawn times will just give you a headache in the end.
Your best bet is to just keep at it - if you can dedicate a full day (perhaps on a weekend) to camping I'm sure you'll spot who you're looking for. It's all luck really, but perseverance definitely helps out more than anything. ^_^

Re: Multiple rares and timers
I really, really doubt they [all the rares in the Basin] are on a connected timer. People on Wowhead and such have reported seeing all the rares within as little as 10 minutes apart, and I've never seen anything to support this claim.
Re: Multiple rares and timers
That's possibly the best thing you can do, get a proffession like mining or herb and go about your daily business doing that, making a small profit from your time in Sholazar and fingers crossed, an even bigger profit could be around the corner
Keep at it though, never give up!
oh, and I've seen Aotona merely seconds after a successful Loque'nahak tame before, though I have a solid belief that Loque and King Krush share a timer

Re: Multiple rares and timers
When I was taming King Krush with Kiko, Kiko actually managed to see Loque pop while I was taming, and not only that, but to tame him for herself.

Thanks for the input. The hunt continues early tomorrow for this most elusive kitty.
