7 Deadly Sins as pets. :)

I suddenly had an idea for a new hunter and I'm so excited by it that I had to start brainstorming.

Since we'll be getting more stable slots in Cataclysm I realized that I could finally act upon my wishful thinking of a hunter owning the 7 Deadly Sins. I believe that I casually had the idea a long time ago, but never did anything since it would feel incomplete without the full seven.

Anyways, I went through the pet list and came up with my ideas for the pets representing each sin, but I would love to hear all of your ideas as well!

Gluttony - For obvious reasons I chose a boar. Pigs have always been a common representation for that trait, and it just fits well.
Pride - When I think of Pride a peacock often comes to mind, so what better than one of the gloriously colourful tallstriders?
Lust - I typically associate Lust with the colour red and usually a sort of fiery passion. The beautiful but deadly red lynx seemed like a good fit to me.
Envy - Naturally Envy had to be a green pet, and this spider really jumped out at me for a personification of that emotion.
Greed - This was more difficult to pick, but I ended up choosing this worm since yellow is technically the associated colour with Greed.
Sloth - Blue is the colour for Sloth, and a slow plodding turtle seemed like a good choice.
Wrath - Finally for Wrath I found the black and red scorpion embodies that anger perfectly.

For some reason Envy too me seems a green serpent rather than a spider simply because Envy is personified as the green eyed monster which I associate with a snake. Good idea though!

Envy is most commonly represented by a dog, a serpent, or a serpent with a dog like face.

I definitely considered a green Wind Serpent for Envy. You're right, a serpent is more customary for that. So that one could change. ^^ The only green dog would be a Core Hound, but that's quite far away in terms of level.

I'm also not sure if this hunter will be BM or not. If not I'll have to think of an alternative to the worm for Greed. A yellow hyena perhaps? Not sure what other pets would symbolize greed.

I don't find is green enough, fits better. Or perhaps or ?

For greed, I don't think the worm is great. The colour is perfect, but the worm itself... Hmm. How about this fella?

He's a ravager => ravage = greedy? It could work..
Or perhaps a vulture?

I like the last serpent Sara posted, very spikey and fierce reminds me of Envy.. For greed I associate the color yellow/orange like gold so how about...http://wow-petopia.com/html/skins/skin_ ... range.html. Hyena's are very greedy with food in the wild and are known scavengers or thiefs. They will gang up on a lion pride to steal their carcass..very "Greedy". hehe

Believe it or not, I feel that a brown bear more accurately describes Gluttony. The boars in this game aren't pigs, like big ol' potbellied pigs that some people keep as pets. They're ferocious and muscular. But bears, bears wander into your camp and steal food off of your picnic table, eat for like six months straight in preparation for their winter hibernation...to me that's Gluttony.

I would also say that a yellow hyena would be a better fit for Greed. While they are capable of hunting for themselves, hyenas are notorious for stealing the food of other creatures (and not just lions! - they steal from wild dogs as well).

Envy to me would also be more of a green serpent or wind serpent, as mentioned above.

Other than that, sounds good to me!

Loved all the various amendments along with the original idea... And here it comes, Bear, gotta have a bear in there. Surely one of my sins for sure... Gluttony for sure... Ever seen what a freaking Grizzly can pack away, owww momma..! The Boars a good fit too though. Toughie...


Could use a boar as greed..? Piggy bank etc references and such. That way I could have bear and a boar lol... I digress

Thanks for all the alternative suggestions guys! Since a lot of pets will be out of my level range for a while anyways, I'm sure I could use multiple ones for a particular sin as I level up.

What a lovely idea!! I concur with the Gluttony, but Pride reminds me of lions, for obvious reasons =P My favourite of all the lion skins is , and lions seems like very prideful creatures.

It might be the undulating movement of the Dragonhawks, but I find that would be a wonderful Lust pet. It might also be the association of Dragonhawks with Blood Elves for me, and I've always seen them as a representation of Lust.

I also agree that would make a great substituion for Envy, the less natural Wind Serpent look of the Outlanders makes it look very otherworldly indeed, perfect for a sin. =)

And Wrath for me is definately summed up by Devilsaurs, particularly , they're just so menacing! ^^

Greed is particularly hard, I agree, but yeah, I'd agree with Sarayana and use a vulture, one of my personal favourite's is , but Sarayana's suggestion goes with the yellow you were associating Greed with.

Hmm, I think you guys are right about the bear. I'll keep that a possibility. ^^

I think I'll scratch the green spider for Envy. I like the look of it, but serpents are definitely more fitting. And the yellow Hyena is looking more favorable as I think about it.

Haha, the lion did cross my mind as well. Hmm, I still kinda like that idea, and since the purple strider isn't until very high level I'll keep lions on my list.

Oh oh! Put a yellow boar as a possibility for Greed as well - they're yellow and they could be seen as greedy, I suppose (I think Roonok already said that?). Just in case you don't go with a boar for Gluttony.

Veph, I think it's brilliant. I know I already gave you my opinion above, but I'm gonna give it again because, well, that's what I do. Personally I'd go with Princess for Gluttony, dragonhawk for lust, the classic green wind serpent for envy, the ravager for greed, and the turtle and scorpid.

Interesting idea. These would be my picks.

Gluttony: I would agree bears and boars both make good choices for this. Carrion birds could work as well, as vultures in the wild will eat anything and stuff themselves so full that they cannot fly.

Pride: Come to think of it, the way I RP my tallstrider is fits perfectly with pride. Tallstriders just have that tall stance and elegance to them that makes them look like they see themselves as better than everyone else.

Lust: I'm having a had time thinking of a wow beast that goes with lust, but the red lynx works.

Envy: Teal serpent or green wind serpent models work.

Greed: I would go with a yellow raptor. Raptors in wow are known to steal stuff from a quest chain in the barrens.

Sloth: I see a gorilla as a sloth. Turtles are slow moving, but not lazy or careless. The idle animations of gorillas makes them look like they don't have a care in the world.

Wrath: Red core hound. I can't see anything more of a wrath than those beasts.

That is a great idea! Though honestly I'd think the gold worm would be lust...ahh and now I feel dirty.
