PVP for transmogs
Well since you can convert JP <--> honor I've been thinking of getting a bunch of PVP gear for that purpose.
However based on what I read, (lvl 60?) pvp gear cannot be transmogged, and which is why they added the new vendors in Area 52. However, those guys only sell to players with a high PVP rank.
Meaning people who just do PVE can buy and equip PVP gear, but they can't actually transmogrify it...
I don't think I have that 100% correct though... can anyone clarify on this?

Re: PVP for transmogs
You should be able to transmog the level 60 gear - you could try checking the Org vendors. I think you should be able to purchase that gear without trouble.

Re: PVP for transmogs
I'm not worried about buying it - I'm worried about buying it and then discovering that I cannot transmog from it once I do so, and will then be out 375-750+ JPs.

If you can't transmog it, you can just sell it back to the vendor for a full refund.

Looks like this is corroborated (re: lvl 60 PVP gear):
Subject: Good news, everyone! [regarding old PvP gear]

EDIT: Evidently this restriction is a pretty hot topic - this thread alone is up to 26 pages and counting...

It makes sense - why else would you be able to buy the grand marshal's claymore from two different vendors?Mychelle wrote:Can anyone here confirm if the Level 70 PVP gear can be Transmoged at all though? I havent had a chance to check, last I was able to check though, I couldnt get Lvl 60 PVP gear to Transmog at all. Made me sad. ;.;

Re: PVP for transmogs
Level 70+ PvP gear is fine for transmog, but apparently the level 60 stuff was barred for anyone without a vanilla PvP title above a certain rank.
I heard rumors it was related to people faction-changing with transmogged gear of the opposite faction which they'd just purchased for that purpose (considering lvl 60 gear is the only stuff with different skins for each faction, this makes sense). The GMs in the replies that I saw said it would likely be changed/patched, not sure if it was last night yet or not.

Changed/patched as in, removing the transmog restrictions from lvl 60 pvp gear?Acherontia wrote:The GMs in the replies that I saw said it would likely be changed/patched, not sure if it was last night yet or not.

Re: PVP for transmogs
Yes, they said it was likely or possibly temporary, can't remember the exact wording.
Guildmate of mine had collected a full paladin set, and still has his old Blood Knight tabard--he looks exactly like an NPC wearing it--and can't transmog to it : / That's why I had researched it; it's a bit sad but hopefully will be fixed or changed soon. The shame of that is that it would be impossible, then, to have a blood elf in lvl 60 PvP gear unless they'd faction-changed and then transmogged.

Hmm. Ok, guess I'll keep my fingers crossed...Acherontia wrote:Yes, they said it was likely or possibly temporary, can't remember the exact wording.
I lol'd (at the description, not at the fact that he cannot transmog to it - I definitely sympathize there!)Acherontia wrote:Guildmate of mine had collected a full paladin set, and still has his old Blood Knight tabard--he looks exactly like an NPC wearing it
