Raun's First Exotic - Taming The Kurken

Unread post by Talaridan »

I hit 70 and decided to celebrate by picking my first exotic to tame on Raunien. After browsing Petopia, I decided that I would tame the handsome Kurken, one of my favorite exotics.

First, I headed out to Ashenvale to fly toward Darkshore. It was raining and I felt a little thrill to be going on a little adventure for a new companion.

I followed the coast until it was close enough and started flying as quickly as I could, watching my fatigue bar with some nervousness.

Fortunately, I had no trouble reaching Teledrassil safely!

I found the proper dock and hung around for a few minutes until the boat arrived. I was tense the whole time, wondering if it was going to flag me because sometimes that happens at random it seems.
Image

I landed on the boat, trying to keep myself out of range of the somewhat intimidating level 75 guards. Sitting up there on the boat-house worked just fine.

I hit shore and went searching, finding Timbermaw Hold with little trouble.

I got attacked by the low level flagged guards, but since I had no pet out, I avoided getting flagged and ventured deep inside, looking for my new companion.

I found the Kurken's lair and watched him for a few minutes. He spent most of the time at the water, staring at it. To me, he looked sad and frustrated at his imprisonment, trapped by the Furbolgs and Wildkin and unable to get out.

I called to him and he immediately headed over.

He loomed closer and seemed to stare at me.

I liked this shot. It looks almost like he lowered his head so I could pet his muzzle.

And here Raun is with his handsome new companion, who is still unnamed.

I've been considering going to get the Kurken on my belf. I might just have to do it later, thanks to your inspiration. (:

Awww.

I like him a lot. They took out his "thudding" when he runs around so that helped a lot for me to get attached to him. He has a lot of personality and expression for an old model too. :D

Actually, In that one it, it looks like he's going to bite - and eat - your hand.....

I know how that excitement to get a new pet feels. Grats on da Kurken.

Congratulations!

Just remember that the thing about taming exotics is that, just like potato chips, you can't stop with just one.

Aww... that was one of the things I liked about him, that all my friends got annoyed when he was stomping around, making little earthquakes.. yelling for me to stop it.. ^^ He's still furry and lovely though
