Pets You Have For Real Life Reasons? :)

So does anyone have a pet that they have in game for a real life reason and if so whats the reason behind it?

I myself plan to tame Arcturis as I feel very drawn to him..hes a spirit bear which pulls me too him even more. I remember meeting an old native american man when I was younger who told me everyone is blessed with their own spirit animal(I dont know if any believe in this but its a cool idea) he told me mine was the bear and every so often I have a reoccuring dream of a spirit like bear. I closely looked at Arcturis the other day and noticed hes very similar to this bear from my dream. Thought it'd be a cool idea to tame my literal "dream" bear

So whats your reason for the pet you have/want?

Just always had a thing for wolves, personally. Hence my main pet having been a wolf since Vanilla. My cat was supposed to just be a temporary tame, but I ended up falling in love with her because, well, I love cats. Everything else would be in game reasons, I suppose. ALways said devilsaurs should be tameable, loved them when they were, and I just love the look of the spirit beasts.

Not to be a downer but he may have just told you that to let you hear what you wanted to hear, as well a cp;

An individual can not be assigned a spirit guide by another person, regardless of who that person maybe, no more than another person can say how or when the Great Mystery of Life will be known to you.

But who knows maybe you are lucky and you do have a bear as your guide but, I'd suggest looking into it more, Nevar, if it does really interest you, than taking word of mouth. link a dink incase you do


Anyways I'm just an animal lover in life- and as such it made me want to be an animal lover ingame. Sure while i do have fun on my other toons...

idk I just love the idea of taming dinosaurs, giant birds of prey, wolves, serpents, ooo especially serpents. I had two ball pythons and loved them to bits. Sadly though, with the current shiny glitch I couldn't really bear to keep most of those I have tamed... wtb shiny fix

I have ironjaw and I think I liked him a lot because he looks like a dog I had that sadly passed away long ago. So I'll never get rid of him because he reminds me of her

I've always traditionally had Cats on my Hunters because I'm a Crazy Cat Guy so it was generally a no-brainer to get a pet cat. And Blizz did such a good job modeling the cats so it always felt right to have one as the connection was there.

Now I tend to choose pets based more on their utility and DPS, though I'm very happy that my first pet on this current Hunter, a Spider, is useful again if just for PVP.

I got a white Worg from Elwynn Forest because it looks like my dog who had passed away, and I tamed him on my Hunter who was named after my cat who'd passed away >.<

I initially got Arcturis, then Skoll; in memorial of a family member who passed away last year from Cancer; his nickname is "Bear", he's a big guy, & his favorite color is Blue. Though Arcturis saddens me a little more so because of the bear aspect, than having Skoll out, either way both are blue in color & are in remembrance of this individual.

Looking at Loque'Nahak; I do have a cat, but since Loque'Nahak isn't black & my own cat is, kinda doesn't fit, but the fact he's a cat is what works for me.

King Krush isn't really for anything in real life; but I did tell myself soon as I got him I'd name him Yoshi.

The whole spirit guide thing for me I did in fact look into. It is very interesting if you do in fact look into it because its believed everyone has it for instance what animal are you drawn too? Do you dream about? What animal reoccurs in your life through everyday things.

But on a side note - Its nice to see other people think like I do that they pick their pets for sometimes specific reasons. Be they in memorial to a lost pet or friend..or a reminder of something good. I find it happens to a few of my fellow hunter friends as I have one who named his black wolf Squiggles because the wolf looks exactly like his dog

Well, I have the spirit guide on Saturo, and it's sort of a memorial for a dog I owned and loved when I was about twelve years old.

And no "spirit guide" pet for me, except for a dark, swirly mist thingy that recurs in my dreams. It's a nice swirly mist thingy tough. Thus my love for Voidwalkers. Why I dream about them is a mystery tough. Closest thing to a spirit guide for me would be some kind of raven. Smarter than they look. Plus, I mostly wear dark clothing.

For me, being part American Indian I chose some because they are my given spirit guides in real life. IRL I have three. A wolf, bear and lizard. The bear is 'big medicine' in the culture and appears to be my healer. The wolf and lizard are guides of direction, understanding etc. I know it sounds maybe hokey or unbelievable but this is what I've grown up to know. The three animals are constant in my life and have been since I was little. I've dreamed of them and have even had rare encounters in the wild with them that most people wouldn't have.

So I have a lizard and a wolf in game right now. Really want the bear again since it's been a long time since I had one but I'm looking for a either a black or white bear and hope to have after Cat is up and running or whenever the new stable slots are open.

I love kittehs IRL so of course I have my kittehs in the game. Tallstrider is just her look and demeanor.

I tamed Gondria because she has the same pattern on her fur as one of my cats, just like a tiny tiger.
Loque'Nahak is named after my pet burmese python, he was really sick and I was worried that I would lose him, so I figured that I would be able to run with his "spirit" on my hunter at least. Luckily he has since recovered .

About the whole "Spirit Guide". I really think that it is a neat thing to look into. I have always had dreams about animals and one day I just sat down and thought about my dreams. I can remember from a long time back that I have always dreamed of a tiger with eyes that change color and he had a large scary look to him with fangs the size of my arm. I happened across Rak'Shiri one day and he clicked at once. I named him after the tiger in my dreams and he has been my main pet since.

I would say to go for it. You find Arcturis, or rather he finds you .
I have had my kitty for three years now and he is always my first choice for anything. It was very eerie when I saw him walking around in the snow for the first time, it felt like I was dreaming again. Good luck with Arcturis!

Haha Yha. I tamed a timber wolf and named it after a german sheperd I work with. Im a military police dog handler for the Navy lol

Springpaw Lynx from the Blood Elf zones.

I'm a fan of cats, yet I'm allergic to them. My all time favorite cat from what I've seen is a Servical. They're little red lynx hybrids that are absolutely cute. Having a giant red lynx that can only be had in dreams works just as well for me, since I can't get one of those rare hybrids without pure luck and a new nose.

My Mulgore wolf (the silly barking one) reminds me of my childhood dog Smudge. Not so much in appearance, since his fur was mostly black, but in personality. He was a coyote-border collie-looking dog and a really unique and wonderful dog.
