Which shoulders? full set vs. "better" shoulders

Finally collected the glimmering set (http://thottbot.com/transmog-set=228) . all i need for its completion is the red/yellow staff from mgt hc. ( http://www.wowhead.com/item=34608)

but... i am not sure if the shoulders match this set, or wether other shoulders would be better. I had the magnificent shoulders in the bank, but other suggestions is welcomed too.

I would probably go with magnificent shoulders, I think they fit better than the set ones.

i had hoped to find some shoulers with both red and yellow in them, so the bp doenst stand out to much - but no luck yet

I'd go with the first ones myself. They're shinier than the second ones which matches well, plus the red in the second shoulders doesn't match the other reds and it throws me off. Too bright.

yeah just what i originally thougth - just a shame that the original shoulders doenst have a spot of red in them. would fit the gun and my planned staff and the rest of the gear

I think Magnificent Shoulders are a better fit.

They really pull the look together, especially with the gun you've chosen.

Lupis, the red in the rest of the Glimmering set is actually brighter than it appears here and matches the rest of the set better.

Right now I'm wearing the Battleforge shoulders with the Glimmering set on Anniah-Nesingwary which seem to work pretty well.

for now im wearing the yelow shoulders now, cause i agree with lupis that the red doenst quite match - but idefo try the Battleforge shoulders cause they are red and yellow

Personally I prefer the red shoulders - the red may be 5-10% different than that of the rest of the set (which is just due to the shoulders being a bit shinier than the rest of the getup), but imo continuing the two toned theme adds more to the set than switching to a single color.

Also I'd recommend you check out the chest and head piece from here http://www.wowhead.com/item=31256; the current chest is nice but it kind of leaves the shoulders a bit untethered, whereas the silvermoon armor imo ties it all together more - and, if you wove this in I think it would individualize it further from the glimmering mail set.

If you're attached to the current chest, maybe a red shirt to tie the shoulders and chest together?

uhh good idea.. i will try that - but wont the shirt block out the wrist?) i´m going to try though:D

I like the red shirt much better - especially if you're going with the golden shoulders, the shirt creates a nice gold / red / gold link between the chest and shoulders. Also it doesn't block out the wrist - it actually has a thin golden trim at the top that divides the two, but in a way the gauntlets look like they were made to go with that shirt.

Although I would recommend getting a red shirt that goes down to the waist, I think that would strengthen the theme even more.

To be honest the yellow shirt looks awful. Its to much gold, go with the yellow shoulders and red shirt.
