I've been Horde since day 1 and I've met some great people. A few people I'm friends with started off as Alliance and switched to Horde and have enjoyed it. Other people I know started off as Horde, switched to Ally, hated it, and now want to come back.
But, it's all personal preference, and who you get to know, so all I can say is good luck and welcome to the cool side

As for world PvP? It depends on the server. As do the communities. And the PvP. And the raiding.

I've find that I'm very lonely horde side, and people don't do much RP (There's a good chance you can go to SW, plunk down, RP, and someone will show up.) or are generally annoying.

Re: For the...Horde?
Since this was back in vanilla WoW, faction change was not possible, so I stuck with my Dwarf, and kept saying to my friends "I wish I could move my Dwarf to the Horde". I think the Dwarves are awesome, and my Dwarf Hunter was an extension and fuller realisation of the Dwarf Ranger I had been playing for a good few years in NWN on-line on an RP persistent world recreation of the Earthspur Mountains region of Faerun.
Anyways, I eventually switched to Horde with a Tauren Druid and fell in love with the faction. I eventually made a Hunter again and went through TBC with that character. I left the game for a bit and came back with some friends and made a Shaman whom I still play a fair bit, but I missed my Hunter but because I'm a bit OCD-addled, I had to start again, rather than picking up a dormant character, and that was this guy.
So yeah, once I went Horde I never looked back. It's so much better than Alliance.

Re: For the...Horde?
I think this is very true. The few times I've gone horde (on a few toons, not everyone) in the past, it's not been fun. Now, I have horde toons with Petopians and my friend and I have a small horde-side guild on Ysera, and having friends to play with makes all the difference.Nevar wrote:Personally I ended up disliking it very much...it was fun for a while and then I hated it. Thats probably just the environment I was in but /shrug.. to each their own. I've been alli since I started WoW and it felt wrong changing tbh - if thats your cup of tea do it though.. I just had a bad experiance
Teigan, since you'll be playing with your hubby you'll probably enjoy it, especially if you find you connect more with the lore/races/characters horde-side. Of course there's nothing saying you have to be purely one faction.

Re: For the...Horde?
Have you been listening in on our conversations?!? lolIf only dwarfs could be horde. :They belong on the good side. Let the alliance have the blood elves or something.
This all started after we did the Wrathgate quest line (from the Alliance side obviously). My god. Apologies to those who like King Wrynn, but...dang, I think he's the cause of all the World's problems! Then we watched the Horde obliterate SW over and over and over while all the other lvl 80s just stood there and watched. I play my Horde toons quite a bit and am established enough Horde side to have a bank toon and all and I've seen the Allies come in...but not repeatedly and with out being fought. Granted my most established Horde enclave is on a different server, but even with the Hordies I have my my main server I've never seen this. And the Horde players are generally more tolerable on my main server and Horde server, there's more a sense of humor in the game itself, from the Horde side. We both love the Taurens, Trolls, Orcs and soon Goblins, where the only Allie race we like is dwarves, and soon Worgen.

Re: For the...Horde?
It's funny, people always say this, but the random dungeons I've run on my faction changed druid (so Northrend dungeons and now heroics) have been much, much worse horde-side on Stormstrike. Alliance side, I find there's generally a friendlier tone or silence, but I've seen so. much. namecalling horde-side. It's painful. I also see more reportable names and guild names (say, Bustinhoes and his faithful raptor, Beatinhoes. Lovely, innit?) horde-side. Anyway, I don't want to make any generalisations about either faction's players, I assume I've just been unlucky.Dulanie wrote:In my experience the Horde are more mature, helpful, and less idiotic.
Teigan, if you're really more attached to the horde in terms of faction lore etc., then I say go for it. Take the plunge, why not? Your main playing partner will be switching with you, after all.
