Unread post by Sesamee »

Roar of Courage The beast lets out a roar of courage, increasing the mastery of all party and raid members by 3,497 within 100 yards.
Spirit Beast Blessing (New) The spirit beast blesses your allies, increasing the mastery of all party and raid members by 3,497 within 100 yards. Lasts for 60 sec. Instant. 45 sec cooldown. Special Ability.

Yay!! :D

ETA: Fixed the copy a little bit. And this means that we don't have an agi buff still. So maybe now my "Yay" is not quite so enthusiastic.

Hm are we going to lose the SB heal then? If so, I'll be sad because it's saved my bacon quite a few times.

No, this is the replacement for the agi/str buff. As far as I know the heal is still there.

Nah, I'm sure the heal is going to stay as the extra exotic ability. Just the primary buff is changing to Mastery.

Now you beat me to it, Ziarre! :D

Eeee, that's exciting! :D I was wondering about that, since monks get the mastery buff.... Sweet! :)

Isn't the agi/str buff gone from EVERYONE, which is why it needed to be replaced? :D

That's right. Pretty sure agi/str buff is gone.

DK's, Warriors, one or two of the Shaman specs (via totems), and hunter pets are the classes that bring the Strength/Agi buff right now. If the mastery buff turns out to be pretty rare that might make up for us losing our most powerful buff. I might bring myself to be OK with it in that case.

ETA: Ah, OK! I wasn't aware that everyone lost the agi/str buff. In that case I guess I'm close to being OK with it. :D

That's RIGHT NOW. I don't think ANYONE gets that buff come MoP. :)

I wonder if they're going to let mastery be useful for the first 79 levels then. Kind of odd they'd give a buff to a very common pet that's utterly /useless/ until you hit 80.

Hopefully they'll just make mastery activate when you choose your spec or somthing.

Blessing of Kings, Mark of the Wild, and Embrace of the Shale Spider are the buffs that provide Str/Agi as well as Int too, for 5%. Dunno why all of you think it's removed from the game entirely. :?

That's a different buff entirely than strength of earth or horn of winter. ^_^

Somewhat true in a way. Right now those two and Roar of Courage bring a static Str/Agi buff, which is gone in MoP. There's no replacement for that. The 3 I mentioned however do bring a buff that gives out Str and Agi, and the reason I said it is because people are saying we do NOT have a buff that brings Str and Agi. That's why I'm confused about it. I am well aware it's not the same static buff, but it's still a good one since it scales while the old one doesn't. I honestly don't know what to say anymore, confused and at a loss of words for this right now. :(

*nod* This is why I like referring to the buffs by similar buffs' names, since they're the ones considered equal to each other. :) Kings stayed, which is why we're still getting a general stat boost. Maybe in MoP, the numbers are great enough that having kings is enough? Or perhaps mastery is really going to factor in more. After all, why give it to monks if it wasn't going to be important in some way? We KNOW there will be a ton of monks leveling. ;)

I agree with you on that, seems they really want to make Mastery more worth it in MoP. I also quickly went browsing on wowhead to be sure about something, I see that on live that BoK/MotW/EotSS also boost Stamina, but that was removed from it in MoP, but Power Word: Fortitude was changed to be 10% instead of a static number. Looks like they want more stats to scale with level and new gear, but at the same time the Mastery buffs are static numbers. Makes me wonder if that stats would be too powerful if it was a % scaling buff? :o

Yep, exactly! And it definitely would be. xD Hence another secondary stat buff instead.

So... Mastery. Guess we had to get it somewhere.

But.. assuming you are running solo, I have to think that Crit based pets will be stronger. The cat era may be over again. Back to Wolves and Trexes?
