I think it's hilarious how split the opinions are in the comments on those pages.
Half of everyone thinks the mount is awesome and the pet adorable, the other half think the mount ugly and the pet disturbing!
I personally don't like the mount, but I think the pet is pretty neat.

It's like daring someone to go insult a bunch of kindly old nuns. You'll wind up going back to your friends with a story about how they smiled at your insults and tried to give you cookies, or something.
The mini-pets for the two previous expansions...well, I found them a little depressing. I like that this one is more natural looking, if still a little cutesy.
I also like the coloring on both the mini-pet and the mount; my hunter pet and mini-pet will almost be matchy-matchy.
I always hate to criticize the work and love someone puts into their art, but I'm afraid I fall on the "creepy" side of the reaction spectrum with that cub. The expression on its face looks to me like someone just beat it and it's cowering. And I'd be scared if I hugged it too tightly its eyes would shoot out.
