I think the only reason the Hodir one isn't tamable is because of the Daily Quest affiliation as well as being a Hodir Faction member. We have so many ghostly, non-spirit-beast pets that I'm not sure why this would be removed.Ziarre wrote:Yay, we might get the ghostly Northrend wolf! I know a lot have been wanting that one...hope it's not a bug, or if it is, that they'll let us keep it (we have Lone Hunter after all).
Funny thing is though, their portrait wasn't always like that. It used to be just a white worg :OXakaal wrote:That is so weird, the portrait vs the model... im not sure if the portrait is a place holder or if the model's gonna get a reskin! Prolly the former tho

Unless we're moving away from rare beasts in MoP. No one seems to have found any rare beasts to tame thus far, which is rather surprising, considering that Blizzard seems to have tanked their spawn timers for us.WildcatTM wrote:I think what will happen is the portrait will be used for a rare (if a new skin is produced, of course). It doesn't make much sense to make an awesome skin like that so easily tamable.

Perhaps they're implementing more challenge tames, which may take longer to complete. Or maybe they'll continue with the Tear of Loyalty aspect, and the beasts will come in later with different loot tables to reflect that?Swampfox wrote:Maybe the rare beasts just haven't been added yet? Do they usually take so long to add them?
I seem to remember Karoma coming fairly late. So hopefully.Vephriel wrote:Perhaps they're implementing more challenge tames, which may take longer to complete. It does seem odd that absolutely no beasts have been found as rares, so I'd say they're coming later all together.

I don't even think list of tamable beasts are done. I don't recall, but the tamable rares came out near the end of Cataclysm, right? I really can't see Blizzard pulling away from the routine. Though, I'm still annoyed that we didn't get any new skins in 4.3.Kalliope wrote:Unless we're moving away from rare beasts in MoP. Well, we did get shiny versions of old skins, the cats from one of the HoT's. (Shiny effect like pogeyan on spotted and striped white/black cats)WildcatTM wrote:I don't even think list of tamable beasts are done. You can tame the Hodir frostworgs (the normal ones) by setting yourself to "at war" with them, even if you are exalted. There was a time way back when Olm the Wise and then White was a member of the Cenarion Circle and you had to set yourself "at war" with them to tame him.Gimlion wrote:I think the only reason the Hodir one isn't tamable is because of the Daily Quest affiliation as well as being a Hodir Faction member. ^ This. Basically, those other worgs, and the worm, are not absolutely required to get a quest done, as there are multiples of them, as well as having the ability to make one in the case of the worm. The ghost wolf, however, is a unique mob in the valley, absolutely required to continue with the daily, and I'm not sure they wanted us taming such a creature.Ziarre wrote:Not the Hodir one we were talking about, though.
We did get a ton in 4.2, and rare beasts really wouldn't have fit in the 4.3 story like the 4.2 MF ones did. (Now the fact that 4.3 was lacking in content in general is another issue...)WildcatTM wrote:Though, I'm still annoyed that we didn't get any new skins in 4.3.
