Dragonhawk Skin Proposals

i was flying around crystalsong on live and i happened to visit the old sunreaver dragonhawks that alliance hunters almost got to tame and i began thinking about how blizzard could implement the silver and black skins into tameable beasts and i think i found some fine ideas. let me know what you think.
my first idea is to have http://www.wowhead.com/npc=20502 use

My other idea is to have http://www.wowhead.com/npc=18155 use

these ideas allow all skins except the mount skin to be tameable and the colors still sorta fit with the names of the NPCs

Hrm, I'm not much of a fan of having three dragonhawk skins only be available in raids, but I am completely in favor of seeing those two get used!

I wouldn't mind seeing the ones that fly around on the isle be flagged tameable - they could be trick tames, since they die so easily.

to be honest i didnt have much to work with its either the 2 from tempest keep raid get switched to black and grey or the shadowmoon valley ones and the tempest keep dungeon one being switched. I chose the latter but blizzard could just as easily do the first one i just mentioned. either way those are the only 2 skins that are used on multiple NPCs which is why i chose them to be switched. hope you understand

Hopefully these skins will become tameable in the future, the family could use the variety.

I don't think Bloodfalcon feels quite right as the dark colour though, the name fits better with a Red/Pink tone. Either way though, there's definitely options out there for the skins to be slipped into.

Yup, I totally understand your limited choice and only voiced my reservations conceptually. You had no real choices to work with and made the best choice you could based on the limited availability. I'd have done the same myself and still taken issue with it conceptually.

The "Eclipsion" name might be good for a black dragonhawk.

Not sure that something called "Bloodfalcon" should be black, though. It was obviously made red to fit its name

I had hoped that the Dawnblade Dragonhawks, which are the mounts of the attacking blood elves on IQD, might spawn alive when you kill the rider. Even if it's a small chance, with a despawn timer. They currently only spawn as corpses.

I'd also hoped that some black dragonhawks could have been added to the Ghostlands. Their colour would fit the palette of the zone, and it makes sense that dragonhawks would have existed there.

But right now their focus seems to be on Pandaria, so if anything I'd suggest a black or grey one for there. There's no reason that dragonhawks hadn't existed in other places before the Sundering, and maybe their distant cousins were isolated on Pandaria. They'd look pretty awesome and creepy in a forested area, or perhaps in Dread Wastes. Their artwork is so graceful and delicate I think they'd fit the Pandaria style very well.

Would love to see more colors in this family. I would totaly re-tame my FireFoxx if they did.

You know....we do have Zandalari trolls down here. They could have darker dragonhawks.

I thought only the Amani had them due to living in the same general area as the blood elves? Granted, the Zandalari could have learned about the use of them from the Amani...

yea but the TCG mount for amani dragonhawks is yellow like the current ones and with only 2 currently in game blizz would have to shove the yellow skin on another dragonhawk and switch the dragonhawks and hatchlings to the black and grey skins. not sure if that would be good

I'm with you Zangor, I really these darker skinned Dragon hawks, always have. I am waiting patiently in the hopes that one day, they become tamable...
I would seriously snap one up in a second!

Yeah, we're not talking about putting them in ZA, but rather putting them in Pandaria citing ZA as the reason for it.

Tbh, I don't mind so much how they are put in, (though they could be a good excuse to create another elite spawn in MOP... maybe in the troll area in the north west?) I just want one! /grabbyhands!

One of those shadowy owls in the Jade Forest could be replaced with a black dragonhawk, and look 500% awesomer

No, he was just discussing with me his idea of a green one. And I said "hang on, maybe I can make a rough proof of concept by editing the skin and recolouring it". And it was hideous. Truly terrible. So then I simply tried swapping colour channels, which gave it a much more natural look. And that was the first thing I got. Turned out way better than I expected.

I'd love to have both of those skins, they're so damn gorgeous. Especially the really dark one. I would do a mad happy dance and go pick them up instantly.

Not to say I don't love the dragonhawks we have because I do, but that black one...*puppy dog eyes*

I would tame both of those skins in a heart beat, they both would be a perfect match for my main Mog set.
