I have the "Not Able to Upgrade Yet" Blues

So here I was, all excited that they were making Pandas available to play for anyone, only to find out that we could only have Pandaren if we had already pre-ordered.

Now I can't say I am entirely surprised by this, but it did bum me out because most of the posts I saw from blues were saying that the content was available to all- I don't remember seeing anything about "only if you upgrade." That said, I haven't been following WoW posts very closely as of late due to a lot of real life things going on (hubby needing a double lung transplant, for example).

So now, because of said surgery above, we have been holding off on any unnecessary purchases. He unsubbed from WoW, and I would have but I'm locked in because of the annual pass. So I'm frustrated because I'm paying for a game that I can't get the full benefit of due to not being able to upgrade at this time because of the cost.

Anyone else in a similar boat?

On the upside, I am enjoying the fact that I can make my spider and bear Ferocity.

The last I heard, Pandaren were going to be playable by all. Do you have a link to where that's changed?

Pandas won't be available until the launch of Mists itself on Sept 25th. After that? Playable by anyone with a vanilla box upwards.

Once pandaland unlocks you can be a panda. Not before that

Cool, it hasn't changed then. No need to pay for an upgrade to play one

Yep. Goblins and Worgen became available for everyone yesterday.

Pet Battles and Pandaren will become available to everyone on the 25th.

Everything else will require Mists. xD
