Re: Loque'nahak hunt help please
I suggest going to wowhead.com and making sure you know his spawn points VERY well I also recommend an addon called Npcscan on Curse Gaming - this is a very helpful addon and will let you know when hes spotted by making a loud noise and alerting you. You will see when you download the addon its what helped me find my Loque
Good luck!

Re: Loque'nahak hunt help please
There's generally accepted that 7 possible spawn points exist for Loque, as highlighted in the following map:
http://huntsmanslodge.com/images/loquen ... ations.jpg
There really isn't one particular location that is better than others - he can appear at any of them when he spawns. Your best bet is to just memorize the route and fly around it continuously until you find him. Late at night is a good time with the least amount of traffic or competition.
A great addon to get would be something like NPC Scan, along with NPC Scan Overlay. The first is an alert that will tell you if Loque is within your vicinity, however once you have seen Loque you must clear your cache or it will not work. The addon page should describe clearing your cache, or if you need more help with that you can ask here. The second addon accompanies NPC Scan and places a coloured area on your map highlighting the spawn locations on your map and minimap for ease of tracking.

Another great addon that works well with these two addons is one called Silverdragon. It will even keep a running list through an icon on your mini map that addresses:
What rares can be found this area.
How many times you've seen it.
If it is cached.
How long ago since you last saw the rare.
Like NPCScan, it does require you to clear your cache for it to work well. But it has an additional 'how to alert you to rares' so in case you forget to clear your cache, it will also go off (for example) if you mouse over a Rare Spawn in the area or target.
Silverdragon is found here through Curse:

Heh, well patience generally is a package deal that comes with hunting rares.
Honestly I love the thrill of the hunt - makes it that much more exciting when you finally get them. ^^

Addons for Rares:
Npc_Scan
or
Silver-Dragon
Both work the same:
- when you are near a rare you get a warning either sound, screen flash, or target icon to click, to target the rare.
When a rare is found say, Loque'nahak, it is cached in your cache folder:
warcraft > WDB > Cache > enUS (or EU) > CreatureCache.wdb
Which you have to delete upon finding said rare so it can refresh & find it again.
All the times I've seen Loque'nahak have been around the Sky Reach Pillar...

Re: Loque'nahak hunt help please
"Just" a blue parrot? It took me about 6 months to find Aotona. I just recently got him. Personally, I haven't seen another hunter on my realm with him. I used to parade around with Skoll out, now Aotona is my "show off" pet. Now if I could just get the macaw mini pet from STV to match. lolRedith wrote:hahaha just as I think that the npcscan isnt working it goes off.....It wasnt my spirit beast but a blue parrot lol. either way tamed it and now looking again
NPC scan with the overlay is awesome. What I did to make it easier is I moved the whole WoW folder to my desktop. Now clearing the cache and setting up addons is super easy. Good luck with Loque. I was lucky in getting him and a guildie posted up in chat that he was looking at him. I got there asap and was lucky that no one else got there first. Try and put out the message to your guild that you're looking for him.

All you can do is keep trying. You'll get it eventually.

Re: Loque'nahak hunt help please
NPC scan will tell you if it spots Loque anywhere within your view range, however it will only sound the alert and make the popup if he's in the zone he's supposed to be. If you see someone with Loque in Dalaran you'll be notified in the chat box, but not with a blaring alert.
This means that if there's a hunter running around Sholazar with a tamed Loque, that will set off your scan, so you have to be careful.
If you already saw Loque today though when that other person killed him then you won't have to worry about searching for a while. It's generally assumed there's at least a 6 hour respawn timer, sometimes up to 10-15 depending on various accounts.

Re: Loque'nahak hunt help please
So you're in Scholazar and NPC Scan keeps going off? Either Loque has spawned, or there's a hunter running aroud with him already tamed. If you're not in Scholazar and it's going off, it should say something to the effect of "Definitely a pet" or something along that line. A little more detail will help us figure out what's going on.
EDIT:
If you're IN the zone where the rare sapwns, you will get an unmistakeable alarm and a little window that pops up with a picture. If that happens than click on the top part of the bar under the picture and it will target the beast for you. If oyu're NOT in the spawn zone, you will not get the larm and picture, but it will say "Loque found, definitely a pet" or something like that. Does that help?
EDIT 2: Did you download the overlay also? If so, then it will color the maps to show where the rare spawns in that zone. If you look at your mini map, the color will appear, AND it will have a circle arround your arrow that shows what area is being scanned.

Re: Loque'nahak hunt help please
So I figured out what it was. When he was killed he skinned him but the body was still there. so when I tried to target there was nothing. That accounts for it
