A big list of beasts that weren't previously tameable have been flagged by Noah (who is freaking amazing!) today. The following have been checked:
Older stuff:
Shady Nook Guardian, Ashenvale
Imported Mottled Boar, Azshara
Dragon Turtle, Black Temple (thanks Spiritbinder!)
Mother Smolderweb, Blackrock Spire
Gizrul the Slavener, Blackrock Spire
Rockfang, Borean Tundra
Famished Bonepaw, Desolace (Spawns during quest "Early Adoption")
Snapjaw Basilisk, Desolace (Spawns during quest "Early Adoption")
Mature Swine, Durotar
Wild Mature Swine, Durotar
Wayward Plainstrider, Durotar
Duskwing, Eastern Plaguelands
Wild Sparrowhawk, Nagrand (Very difficult to tame as it drops aggro and flees. One way to maintain threat is to use Scare Beast on it and attempt to tame it while it's feared)
Fez, Northern Barrens (Ridden by Tortusk)
Jungle Serpent, Northern Stranglethorn, (Phased. Only encountered during the level 85 Zandalari quest chain in 4.1, started by Bwemba)
Deathclasp, Silithus
Savannah Boar, Southern Barrens
Queen Silith, Stonetalon Mountains
Razorthorn Ravager, Terokkar Forest
Naphthal'ar, Terokkar Forest
Rimepelt, Winterspring
Halycon, Blackrock Spire (thanks "evil950510"!)
Mothran, quest mob, V4W (thanks Caelan!)
Vampiric Shadowbat (Kara)
Hyakiss the Lurker (Kara) (note this one also has the wrong skin colour in Petopia. It will be corrected. It's minespiderskinolive)
Shadikith the Glider (Kara) - random basement boss in Kara
Crystal Fang (rare, BRS) - spawns by the last pack of spiders in Skitterweb Tunnels
And in Pandaria:
Needleback Porcupine, DW (thanks Spiritbinder)
Zan'thik Amberhusk, DW (thanks Spiritbinder)
Waste Scavenger, DW (thanks Spiritbinder)
Amber-fed Hatchling, DW (thanks Spiritbinder)
Young Stalker (spawn during fight with Rakira in JF) (thanks Spiritbinder)
Bookworm (Jade Temple quest phase, those green grubs you squish) (thanks Rarehunter1)
Echoweb Hatchling (thanks Varethyn!)
Ashweb Hatchling (2 IDs) - packs spawn in VEB (thanks Varethyn!)
I haven't confirmed any of the following yet, but I believe most or all will be tameable now. The game has just gone down for 2 hours and I need to get to bed. Hopefully other people can help. If you do so, please actually tame the beast, don't just beast lore it. Sometimes things say they're tameable, but turn out to be "already controlled" when you try.
Older stuff that still needs checking:
Uncorrupted Thistle Bear (Darkshore). Alliance quest mobs in cages in cave. Not sure if they were set or not. I think you need the quest to release them and check
Vern (rare croc in Dalaran sewers that may be completely unreachable now anyway. If you can reach it I'd love to know)
Pandaria stuff that still needs checking:
Trained Jungle Lory, Unga Ingoo Scenario - there are 3 ids on Wowhead (62476, 62479 & 62480) and 3 colours (blue, crimson and green). I'm not sure if all IDs are present, and whether each colour is represented by a different ID. And of course whether they're not tameable, or already controlled or whatnot.
Thanks for any help
Confirmed still not tameable:
Hedrum the Creeper (random boss in Ring of Law, BRD) - probably because taming might halt the event and get you stuck in there
Captured Raptor (quest summons, Dustwallow, Blackhoof Village) - now a beast, but not attackable. quest to activate was removed it seems
Swooping Plainshawk (spawns if you get "Alluring Crop"s during farming, V4W) - flagged tameable but "already controlled" (thanks Varethyn)
Granite Fragment (spawns during Wulon fight in VEB if Wulon gets the green buff) - flagged tameable but "already controlled" (thanks Siliverin)
As noted, two of the new tameables retain an enormous size. I'll have to let Noah know about this. Maybe they can be fixed or maybe they have to be made untameable again. In addition they both seem to have a bug where the summon button is generic (no icon) and you can't seem to transfer them to your stables. Presumably they use models that aren't flagged for being in tameable families or something.
UPDATE: FIXED. When first made tameable, Queen Silith and Duskwing both retained huge sizes. It's been hotfixed now and they're normal. But this is what they looked like:
Of the two, Queen Silith was by far the biggest. She retained the exact same size she has in the wild.
that Queen Silith would be fun to play around with for a day or two before a hotfix (i would guess). Just imagine if there still was the Eyes of the Beast.... (walking around with massive spider in org to confuse people)
I am guessing when they did maintenance they "fixed" her.

I need more hunters, IMO.

You used to be able to reach Vern by getting yourself stuck between a torch and the ceiling in the sewers, then either mounting up on a large mount (like a mammoth) or using a growth potion and disconnecting yourself to get through the wall. However both of these methods have been fixed, and any disconnect macro is hotfixed quickly. I do remember Vern was unattackable and could not be targeted by any spells, even Beast Lore. I doubt he would be tameable especially when he's in a place no one should be able to reach.
Blah Queen Silith was fixed so quickly. I wanted my giant spider from beta back. Only spider I ever bonded with because she was so huge.
Since a lot of the boss beasts might now tameable, think other bosses like Maexxna, Lavanthor, Beauty, etc might be as well?
A rare visitor to this forum now that I don't play WoW anymore, but forever a Petopian.
I got to Vern a time or two by flying underneath Dalaran back in Wrath when we were still able to glitch under the map of the ceiling. Far as I know being able to do that has been hotfixed, and as Wassa said, you couldn't actually do anything to/with him anyway.

I saw Queen Silith in the list, and I was very happy. I'm not usually into boss-like hunter pets, but I've always liked her.
I was really excited about the Bookworms, because I remembered when they used the pretty green larvae model in beta. I would love to be able to tame larvae!
Well Queen Silith is still HUGE for me. The one I had from before server maintenance was still large. Killed her off, and rezzed her. Still huge. I abandoned her and tamed a fresh one. Still huge. Dismissed and resummoned. Still huge.
Either my server didn't hotfix with the rest or something else is going on here.
Can anyone else confirm the tame as either big or normal please?

Mine was huge -- and I think perhaps you and I were the only ones to manage this before the fix -- but she shrunk when I relogged after a DC, so the hotfix hit me. Tried a retame, she's still a wee one and no problems with the icon or class.

Sometimes I get tells asking why my spider is large, but I get that with my devilsaurs too, so I think I have some wonky client-server thing, like when some people saw animals at their usual size. 48/50 people people I asked don't see anything wrong though, and all my pets are normal on my screen.

*After* BC, tons of bat overs wanted this, too. The 'common' white bat spawns didn't come in until Lich King.
Incidentally, I spread word about some of these critters to a level 90 hunter in my guild. Hopefully she should be able to test out some tameability. I'm still not leveled (thanks to being an obsessed minipet collector) or I'd have done it.
