Figured to get a topic like this going....so here goes!



I just did my first world boss tonight --- Sha Of Anger. I must say....he's a tough SoB. He makes Deathwing look weak, imho. I was invited by these mages my fiance and I met when we teamed up against a rare spawn in Kun-Lai(It was a fish guy in a hut) where you had water walking abilities. I don't remember his name) and they invited my fiance as well. While we were gaining people, there was this annoying tauren priest that kept aggroing the Sha and making him despawn. Fortunately, the Sha kept respawning. It was just annoying and he was just trying too hard to be a troll.

Attempt 1 - We did well. Got him to 50%. Then suddenly he despawned. We were all rather baffled and slightly ticked.
Attempt 2 - We did fantastic. Got him to 27%...aaaaand then he despawned AGAIN! I was incredibly annoyed by this. Apparently he despawns if the tank loses aggro either being sucky or via MC(ours got MCed). Odd thing was, I noticed something with SilverDragon. I KNEW he was gonna despawn cause SilverDragon went off for him in the middle of the fight, and it had done that in the first attempt. I'm not sure why it does that but...it does.
Attempt 3 - We got him down finally! I only got gold from it. Most did. A pally got some pvp bracers. Overall, I was just thrilled to get the chieve and the RL was really nice.

So I noticed the Sha of Anger was up, and I got a group together via mass-whisper and guild chat. We had about 27 or so.
After some trouble with his teleporting, we tried the first time: we wiped at about 87%.
People were not listening to directions and the Aggressive Behavior debuff, plus the huge packs of angry hozen, were wiping us.

We tried a second time and the same thing happened; and impatient people decided two wipes was enough for a progression group and left. We had about 15 left, and not everyone was 90, so the group disbanded.

Then about an hour later, a battletag friend sent out a broadcast needing more for Sha of Anger. I jumped at the opportunity, of course!
It took a while to get everyone there (about 31-34 total) but then we noticed that a Horde group was already attacking the Sha.
They had about two attempts while we were summoning, and then we decided to make our move. As soon as the Sha of Anger respawned, we attacked in full force!

Of course, the Horde wouldn't stand for this. They flagged themselves and ran into our AoE, making half our group flagged as well. Anyone who healed those would also be able to be attacked.
Throughout the mass of corrupted mushan, orcs flying down on dragons, blood elves leaping about the sha-adds, was the raidleader's frantic raidwarnings: RUN BACK IF YOU DIE! RUN BACK!


I... I don't even know where I am in this picture. I was running from two or three horde at this point, while still trying to burn the Sha.

Eventually, that strategy worked out. As the horde gave it all they could to concentrate on our healers, we gave one last push and killed the boss.


Victory!

As the Horde were trying to gank any remaining people (and I was only 87 at that time), I left the group quickly to avoid multiple deaths. Some people got PvP pieces, but I was unable to see if anyone got the beautiful mount.
I, of course, only got 28 gold. Ah well, better luck next time!
