Largest pet in wow?

Unread post by elementalwolves »

Hi, new guy here, just wondering what the largest tamed pet in WoW is, I've been looking everywhere for the answer to this but I can't find anything. Thanks.

Hmm, hard to judge. It depends if you mean in height, mass, length, etc. After taming there's a few species that could qualify as very large.

Chimeras have huge wingspans, so while they're not necessarily bulky, they have a large presence.

Core Hounds are overall quite large, and they look the part too.
Image

Devilsaurs might be one of the tallest pets, and even though they shrink after taming, there's still the impression of size due to what they are in the wild.
Image

Rhinos are another overall big pet. Probably a good candidate for largest in all ways I'd say.
Image

Tank model silithids are tall and have quite a girth on them, though the insect legs give a more fragile appearance than something stocky like a rhino.
Image

Finally in worms, the Jormungar are super tall and have always been a very big pet.

I'd mention Chibee the caterpillar in here as well. Currently he's enormous. He's going to be nerfed soon from his humongous size, but he's still larger than other caterpillar models.

I saw a hunter in game with Chibee, is there any other pets as big as it or bigger?

Nope, Chibee's probably the largest we've ever had, and it was not intentional. The glitch is being corrected in the next patch, so if you want I'd tame him now to get some screenshots or playtime. He'll still be bigger than other caterpillars, but nowhere near the size he is currently.

The next biggest pet would probably be the rhino in my opinion.

You wouldn't happen to know what the biggest rhino is would you?

I'm afraid they're all the same size.

As Myrrmi said, all pet sizes are generally normalized after taming. Every rhino will be the same size once you tame them, regardless of how big they are in the wild.

I can only think of two exceptions to this currently, one of which is the black beetle from Naxx that stays a little bit smaller than most beetles, and then the aforementioned Chibee which is a bit larger.

Worms from Northrend are really big, as well as the new spiky turtle.

As others have said Rhinos are huge, Cheebee is enormous! Core hounds are pretty bulky, and the chimera's are big because of their huge wingspan. Devilsaurs are definitely big, do they still grow when attacking? Mine used to get ginormous!

I'd say Cheebee probably takes the cake right now tho, he's about as big as my Grand Mammoth.

Beetles are girthy. Those upright Water Striders are tall. Taller than Devilsaurs.

Also the elite Dragon Turtles in Krasarang Wilds remain quite a bit larger than normal after taming (though in comparison to the naturally bigger pets, they're still pretty small). I've been meaning to post about those actually, but completely forgot about it thanks to Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines and Black & White 2.

In my opinion the Disembodied Jormungar feels particularly big, if only because he's so hard to see in addition to being so large. Makes it a real pain trying to get to a mailbox when you can't really see where the big worm starts. XD He also likes to do some pretty big movements with that big face of his when he looks around.

Despite the size of the Naxx beetle being smaller than normal, it has HUGE spell effects. You could easily fit a 5-man group under that Harden Carapace!

there is a reason why devilsaurs are in so many of the users of the petopia forums. i do miss their foot stomping. i guess i am old school and some pets may be bigger. there is no arguing that devilsaurs are the biggest in the wild.

While helping a friend farm Magister's Terrace between patch 4.3 and MoP, I'd bring m rhino, gather up a whole lot of trash mobs and hit Lynx Rush. Coupled with BW it was described by the friend as looking like a firetruck playing hopscotch.
