Apparently I have a Quiraji for a pet...
Was checking my armory pets today and thought ''Hey, let's see how my new hunta pets look!''
Lo and behold, apparently during the night my new cat, Iceclaw (Renamed Icesurfer after guildmaster and good friend) mutated into a Quiraji battleguard.
Not complaining, but I am not sure if I want an angry bug-lady chasing me everytime I mount.

Re: Apparently I have a Quiraji for a pet...
I thought I was the only one who noticed this on someone else's stable!
Can't say I'd be complaining if I had one for a pet, though. They're pretty kickin'. Remind me of harpies.
It's definitely a bug. My stables have always had issues showing my pets. It won't show my basilisk with the right skin, but I've never been the proud owner of an angry bug-lady. But, you're not the only one experiencing armory stable issues relating to her, so.

Some of the pets added in 5.1 have been reported to appear as that mob, perhaps due to its curious internal ID that makes it appear as "default".
Re: Apparently I have a Quiraji for a pet...
Too bad it's only a stable-viewing glitch, would love those Guardlings as a actual pet.

They can be obtained as battle pets, if that helps any...Dialga wrote:Too bad it's only a stable-viewing glitch, would love those Guardlings as a actual pet.

Yeah, they're humanoid. Evil, but humanoid. Better not to dwell on implications.Dialga wrote:Too bad it's only a stable-viewing glitch, would love those Guardlings as a actual pet.

-TECHNICALLY- they are part of the Silithid.Zhinru wrote:Yeah, they're humanoid. Evil, but humanoid. Better not to dwell on implications.Dialga wrote:Too bad it's only a stable-viewing glitch, would love those Guardlings as a actual pet.

Those particular creatures are Qiraji battleguards, a caste of Qiraji specialised in aerial assault. They're supposed to be as smart as the Mantids, as opposed to Silithids which are to them like monkeys to humans (if a Lovecraftian horror made us from monkeys).Myzou wrote:-TECHNICALLY- they are part of the Silithid.

Hehe, yeah I noticed this too. Seems all of the new rares from 5.1 do this.

Hence the TECHNICALLY in that.Zhinru wrote:Those particular creatures are Qiraji battleguards, a caste of Qiraji specialised in aerial assault. They may be sentient, but they are still Silithid. We can tame a lot of creatures that have shown forms of sentience in WoW. Monkeys, Cats, etc.
Re: Apparently I have a Quiraji for a pet...
They're not Silithids, they're Qiraji, technically, theoretically and practically. Apes and monkeys are probably the smartest thing you'll ever tame in WoW, and definitely not people who can talk, like Qiraji. I don't know why you put cats in there, but discussing their sentience would go too far off-topic.Myzou wrote:Hence the TECHNICALLY in that.

Re: Apparently I have a Quiraji for a pet...
I think it's that the sabers in WoW seem to be at least nominally sentient. For example, the one that accompanies the stable-master lady at Star's Rest (Snowpaw? Can't remember his name.) shares a joke with his mistress when she's teasing the draenei about his robes. Normally cats don't snigger.
someday I'll find someplace to host a sig that isn't stupid money-grubbing photobucket
