Ghost Cat Visitation ?
I've had the experience of feeling a cat jump up on the end of the bed and needing the bed, as it comes closer to me. Then it just stops, and I go to pet what I think is my cat and she is on the opposite of the bed sleeping. I've had times where my cat isn't even in the same room, and yet I get the very distinctive sensation that a cat is walking on my bed. Has anyone else ever experienced this ?

Have you had other cats before your current one?

I've had a few of them. I had a black cat named who Salem got sick and died on me. His brother was living with my buddy, and got out and anytime anyone tried to catch him to bring him inside. He would just take off on them. He would be about 12 years old I now I think, if he is still alive.Miyon wrote:Have you had other cats before your current one?

It's not unheard of that diseased pets come back to check up on you.

If you want another take on it, it's very common for a brain to get accustomed to a sensation, sound, feeling, etc. So if you happened to be used to your cat jumping on your bed/rubbing against your legs, your brain can basically play that back when it expects the experience to occur.
We very often see, feel or hear things that aren't real because of this- our brains are surprisingly tricky beasts and make up a lot! It can be haunting (hearing your voice called when you're alone) or comforting. I like the thought of my pet living on because my brain just won't let it go.
This is absolutely not meant to undermine other ideas, by the way.

I agree with that. My moms cat recently passed away, and yet she still "hears" her sounds etc.. It's just habitual imaginations.

I sometimes feel the sensation of a cat rubbing up on me and there is nothing around but I think it's a mixture of my head and wind or a fly or something.LupisDarkmoon wrote:If you want another take on it, it's very common for a brain to get accustomed to a sensation, sound, feeling, etc. So if you happened to be used to your cat jumping on your bed/rubbing against your legs, your brain can basically play that back when it expects the experience to occur.

That actually makes alot of sense.LupisDarkmoon wrote:If you want another take on it, it's very common for a brain to get accustomed to a sensation, sound, feeling, etc. So if you happened to be used to your cat jumping on your bed/rubbing against your legs, your brain can basically play that back when it expects the experience to occur.
