Aotona

Alrighty, I've caught the rare-hunting bug again, and this time I've got my sights set on Aotona (for the second time!). When I got her the first time a year ago I just flew circles around Sholazar's swamp for 3 or 4 hours, playing Bejeweled, and it was an easy ice-trap and tame right south of the Frenzyheart encampment. So I'm probably going to do that next time I have several hours to spare; I've been circling once or twice every hour or two today, and no sign yet.

So does anyone have any more info on her? Solid respawn time knowledge? "Favored" spawn point? I've seen her alive one other time, west of the Oracle camp, but I was on a flight path and couldn't do anything, and dead once to the south of that.

Other than it took me over 6 months of looking for her? Nope. I found mine in the western most spawn spot. Now that I have her, I finally know why I've never seen another hunter with her... she's harder to find than the TLPD. lol Anyway, put out the message in your guild so if anyone sees her, they'll holler for you to come and get her. Amybe even put a post on your realm forum asking anyone for spawn time info. The latter didn't help me at all, but it's definitely worth a try. Good luck in your hunt.

I've heard she's hard to find, but I had no trouble. Is she really that rare or is it the same luck as other rares?

In all my time in Sholazar, doing Oracles dailies, questing in general, and hunting for King Krush/Loque'nahak (2nd time around), my brother finally found her in I believe the southwestern part of the spawn points (could have also been northwest X_x). He was about to kill her, but I was all, "NOOOOOOOO", so he polymorphed her til I got there, and I tamed her.

So yeah, I've seen her a whopping once in about a year. I think I've seen one other hunter with her on my server, a troll fellow.

I actually seem to see Aotona more than the others, which says a lot considering I rarely go over her spawn points. There was one point that I saw her twice in one day (I also saw Loque'nahak twice that day too, but I was looking for Krush - he never did make an appearance).

Whenever I see her I send whispers to any hunters in the zone to see if they're looking to tame. Only had one person take me up on it, and I held her until he got there and then I feigned death - only for him to kill her for the achievement. I'm glad there weren't any other hunters looking to tame, I would have had a major issue with someone lying in order to get the kill and cheat a hunter out of a tame.

Now that I've got Krush, Aotona is probably next on my list too.
