and many many hours spent circling the basin, a large amount of gold on haste gear, potions, drums, and enchants, and a lot of anger and frustration after a dozen failed attempts....
Congrats! He sure is quite the prize! As for a name umm.. well ill be naming mine Titan once I get him, but theres of course Yoshi.. a name I liked and was thinking about was Yoshitsu lol, I kind of thought it was entertaining and a spin off the character Yoshimitsu from Tekken and of course Yoshi haha. Theres also the name Cyan, IEATURFACE, Barney, Dino, Razor.
But wow congrats again, I think I may need to go and buy more haste gear. Luckily for me I have a ton of amazing friends who can help me
and with the haste I can get, I get my tame down to around 15 seconds but I am not sure if it can get any lower. What was your magic number? lol I had 22k health and it meant nothing to him lol.
Big congrats! I know the feeling of frustration trying to get him, and then the super-awesome happiness when it finally happens!!!
As for names, you could stick with Blizz's current devilsaur naming theme. They're one-syllable words that are slightly misspelled, such as...well, Krush, but also Dred, then there's Mosh (which doesn't mean anything I don't think, except for maybe Mush? - but it's still a one-syllable word).
In which case you could try things like Payne, Phang, Klaw, Byte... I've seen a couple others on this forum, Veph's devilsaur Skorn and someone else I think has one named Rhage.
I named mine Apollyon which is Greek for "destruction", and/or "the destroyer".

For a name type... I'm completely drawing a blank. I'd like to name him something representative of the effort that went into it, but I can't think of anything that doesn't sound cheesy or just doesn't suit a face eating dino (IEATURFACE is hilarious, btw).
For anyone who's interested, I found the best time to camp him is in a 6 - 10 hour window after servers go back up after a maintenance or restart. I camped him every day for weeks, in sessions from 2 to 12 hours, and had the most consistent sightings in that window after maintenance.
With food and buffs, I had about 1650 haste and my tame timer was around 13 seconds. It still came down to luck for those last few seconds, but the haste really helps - having 3 seconds to worry about instead of 10 has got to help. Took me three tries to get him last night, and I got yelled at by another hunter (who was attempting to tame without using a trash pet, e.g. no BW, and wasn't buffed. He tried and failed three times before I got there and tried).
I was actually mining in the basin on an alt. Saw Krush, promptly had a panic attack, logged out and into my hunter (who was inconveniently in Ironforge), hearthed and flew to the basin - and was completely surprised to see him up and untagged when I got there. Went through my two trash pets, and had to grab another trash pet nearby. Was praying no one would grab him while I was taming something else - that has happened to me quite a few times.
Anyhow, I could write pages on what I've learned about taming Krush - so I'll stop rambling. I'm still excited and can hardly believe that I finally got him.
Lol no no no go ahead, I could use all the help I could get. I have 328 unbuffed haste, and probably 1000 once I use food and buffs.
I think my macro is working nicely now so I just have to remember to use it haha. I may have to get more haste just incase I may have to solo tame (which seems to happen when you try to two box things)
But that time seems interesting, I saw him at 7:45 in the morning. He was up until 8:20 when he got killed lol. Ive seen Loque up at 7:30, 10:20, and Aotona up at 8:40. So in the mornings they seem to spawn nicely. All between the times of 7:30-11. Could just be because after 11:30 I get so sick at staring at the screen I start losing my mind lol.
I had to create an account just to come on and congratulate Magyck on her monumentous achievement. This is all she has talked about in guild chat for 8 weeks. I'm so happy for her! She freaked Last night when she got him and I'm so glad I got to be online when it happened! Freaking great moment! Love you Magyck!
Grinbarran, Dwarf Warrior, Lord Commander and Guild Master of the Fivepoints Bloodknights
I don't think there's a specific time frame that they're all going to spawn for sure. I haven't seen any consistency for when any of them spawn beyond it usually being between 6 - 10 hours after I saw the last one. I also haven't seen any evidence to prove that the spawns are linked, as I've seen Aotona and Loque'nahak within five minutes of each other.
The more haste gear you have, the less hp you need. When I tamed him, I had the 1650 haste and 20k hp (maybe even a little less). It helps that I'm draenei, as I was able to pop the heal over time racial right before I tamed. I also used scorpid sting to reduce his chance to hit just a bit more. At the end of the tame I had about 2k hp left.
Macros are a must, so make sure those are working properly. You waste a lot of BW if you have to click the "are you sure?" prompt when trying to abandon your trash pet and start the tame. I also had macros for all my buffs (scrolls, potions, elixirs, drums, trinket). Since I tend to panic, it helped to have them all in a row on my action bar in the order that I needed to hit them.
Also, I've seen some recommendations to sit at maximum distance when you abandon your trash pet and start the tame. I tried that a couple of times during my failed attempts, and it always resulted in him charging me and interrupting the tame. And if he interrupts your tame like that, it's pretty well a guarantee for a failed attempt. What I did was send my pet in and stay at max distance until he feared the pet. Then I ran in, scorpid shot on the way, until I was in melee range. Then I hit my heal over time racial macro, the BW/abandon pet macro, and the tame macro in quick succession. The rest was all up to luck. Third time was the charm!
If you're going to end up solo taming, I recommend getting as much haste as you absolutely can. You could get really lucky and get a tame off uninterrupted without much haste, but for me, finding him was such an effort that I didn't want to waste any opportunities. If you don't have to solo tame, and are lucky enough to have a priest drop a fear ward and heal over time on you, then you can get away without as much haste.
Grats on the tame! It takes so much skill to tame that bad boy by your self. I was never able to do it! XD
As for a name, my big green meanie is named Vice because after I saw him in the wild for the first time and lost him to a gankie dwarf hunter and then a achievement shammy I just couldn't get him out of my head. So every time I logged on I would fly out to Sholazar once or twice "just to check". He was my vice. Legend, Lord, and Passion are some names I think might fit him well, or you could just call him what he is a Vice....
Definitely the hardest tame in the game. I always keep an eye out for him when I'm in the Basin and never expected to see him or I would have been more prepared. Followed him around for about 10 mins (amazing no one killed him) until my priest friend showed up. If it wasn't for her, I never would have gotten him. She kept me alive, bubbled, fear wards.... NEVER would have happened without her. And a shout out to the lock who was killing the wasps attacking me. Longest 6-7 mins ever.
Hmm yeah I think I may look into more haste gear. Like you I don't want to waste any opportunity to get that guy. Especially since Shola is always so populated you may only get a few attempts if your lucky without someone coming to kill him. I am lucky to have a few priest friends but I swear the wait until your priest friend comes is pretty brutal. Hmm I'll try your way, it seems way better then my way of frantic freaking out and getting feared and then dying lol. Thank you for the tips, I could use all the help I can get haha.
Oh I got some more names
Vidar: son of Odin and the god of silence and vengeance
Tyr: the original god of war
