Guo-Lai Halls question (phasing)

I always either dual-box, or party with a friend, but today I came across something I'm not sure about.

I've been dual-boxing the Golden Lotus dailies, and doing fine.

But today we had quests that sent us into Guo-Lai Halls. I had soloed these quests on another toon, so I knew what to expect, quest-wise. But when we entered the little cavern with the stairs, suddenly we were phased and couldn't see each other.

Does this phased status last until we've finished the Helm/Axe/Spear quest chain?

I KNOW we went in there together.. we killed the giant spider as a team, so it can't always be phased! but does it ever return to not being phased? because this is really annoying. As a dual boxer, I will have to redo a bunch of my "follow" toon's macros and stuff to get him through there.

Ugh, there are STILL phasing issues with that section? Sigh.

You two should be in the same phase, but since you aren't, I'd prepare to solo through those quests. :/

both of my toons are exactly the same with one minor difference: one is already revered with Golden Lotus, the other is only honoured.

Otherwise, the "revered" one hasn't advanced in any quests that the "honoured" toon didn't have access to.

(the only reason one toon has a higher rep is because an earlier toon I levelled bought the rep commendation, so he's been getting double rep. these toons are on two different accounts)

Oh. That's it, then. xD I assumed they were at the same rep level. So get them both to revered and you should be fine.

I hope that's the only issue. I'd hate to have to do those helm/axe/spear quests solo (again, I mean)

I am fairly certain the bugs involving phasing there were fixed, so it's just a matter of getting your chars in the same phase again. Hopefully!

I had (apparently erroneously) assumed that being at the same point in the quest chain would assure that the two characters were "in sync".

I never thought that one gaining extra rep would matter.

what a pain in the... asp.

The quest chain is rep-based. That part unlocks at revered. It's not like the 5.1 chain that progresses more naturally.

as an aside... last night I started Isle of Thunder.. and THAT is also phased for each character during the first quests.. how incredibly unpleasant.

By the way, tonight, while dual-boxing the dailies, as usual, the minute we entered Guo-Lai Halls, we phased and neither of my toons could see the other... BUT, some random Druid could see and interact with my Warlock.

Well, if you're still in different rep groups, that makes sense. Otherwise, weiiird.

well, confirmed that even if both characters are at the same "place" in the quest line (ie: the higher-rep toon had not accepted the next cookie-crumb quest to continue dailies... they were still doing the exact same quests, and ended with the same final quest and reward), having a different rep level phases you in that one, single spot!

As soon as my warlock hit revered (same as my hunter), they could enter Guo-Lai Halls together no problem (which was nice when it was time to do the spear/helm/axe quest chain).
