ZG Changes in 5.3 - Bloodlord Mandokir soon to be soloable

Good news for those of us wanting to be able to solo Bloodlord Mandokir without having a Hunter handy.

Coming in 5.3 - Bloodlord Mandokir will no longer use Decapitate against his current target.

Now, I believe hunter's will still have the same issue of their pet de-spawning because technically their pet will be the 'current target' still. But that is great news for 'everyone else' who has being wanting to solo this guy.

That's really good news.

Also, yeah, when the pet is "current target", the hunter can still be targeted with abilities that specifically "don't cast on current target". Cf. all the mind controls which can still be executed while soloing by a hunter, but not other classes.

Which probably means I'd either have to gear up my paladin, or get another character levelled up... and geared. (Which is frankly more attractive because I got tired of paladin gameplay)

Maybe she means that she will farm it on her bear druid? No idea, but that's how I read it.

Yeah I think she means druid bear not bear mount.

lol yes sorry I meant using my bear tank to farm ZG I two man zg with my partner on my hunter atm cause he really wants a mount too, this way I wont feel bad if i can solo it on another toon to get my own mount

If you're a hunter, Mandokir gets two targets. If he has more than one target, he still uses Decapitate on the non-main target (that being you).

Just don't use a pet and get no pet based talents? I'm sure you can still do it.

yeah sounds like you should be able to pull the Kalecgos strat based on that.

well you can still solo it with a pet just drop a snake trap a couple of seconds before he capitates

i went on my fist run last night and took me a whole 2 tries to kill it was quite surprised XD

He shouldn't be too hard to take down sans pet with some burst. Just like in the Brawler's Guild!

Qu. Does dire beast and stampede count as another "target"? Or do we have to not use any pet-ish things at all?? Id like to solo on to toons if i could (not sure if my 90 shammy could swing it for a third)....

IIRC, anything that's attackable by the boss counts as another target.
