DSLR Lens

Unread post by AdamSavage »

I've been experimenting with the Camera quite a bit already, and I've already noticed the stock zoom lens isn't enough. It doesn't zoom in nearly enough. I did some googling, and according to the math I found. My stock lens 18-55mm is 3x zoom ? That doesn't seem right at all. 55m up close is a tad better than what I can see. However, the further the object is the more it drops off. With it at 55mm the object in the distance looked bigger to my naked eye, then the camera. Is there more math involved than simply dividing the highest with the lowest. Example being 300mm/50mm = 6x

Anyone ? :D
I believe if you can believe out of nothing an explosion (big bang) happened then how far fetched can god be?

I found this discusson very informative. You might have seen it already, but it's clearer than others I've browsed through.
