Soloing Primal Devilsaurs

Unread post by Acherontia »

This can be done by any hunter (or theoretically, any ranged with no long standstills required for DPS), in any gear, and though time-consuming it's actually quite easy and doesn't require much skill or preparation, no buffs, nothing. I know other solo methods are out there but I didn't see this one, for anyone wanting some fun, try this out.

Use waterwalking of any kind--I used a Water Strider--and pull a Primal Devilsaur onto the water. Pop on Cheetah (until it's very low on HP and slows down, then you can swap), keep pet on passive (to avoid losing waterwalking to the AoE; you can probably find a way around this or just use waterwalking pots, but I didn't want to risk it) and just run him around the island shooting, over shallow water. Easiest one to pull is probably the one on the boat, the trolls that aggro with him won't catch up.

...Did I mention it was time-consuming? I have -terrible- gear (quite a few quest greens yet); it took me about a lap and a half of the island. For the undergeared among us, the Primal Direhorn Hatchlings are probably still a better source of solo-farming bones & eggs. Still, it can be done, and that's the fun bit imo!

Ooh that's quite interesting trick. I might try this when I get bored  .

Kited one from isle of giants up into the jade forest.
A worgen decided he would "help" and got eaten, it made me smile.

I find the easiest way to solo them is to play pet ping pong.
