Reins of the Thundering Onyx Cloud Serpent [Update]

Unread post by Raiyen »

I know I have killed this jerk over 50+ times across 3 toons with no freakin mount drop. It is really starting to get depressing. Especially since some of my guildies have gotten the mount within their first couple kills. :/

I meant to count how many kills exactly I have so far, but forgot to start doing it. (I felt overwhelmed the first couple days after patch release.) Is there anyway to find how many kills you have? Like is it datamined somewhere maybe? I would love to know the exact number of kills it has taken me to (hopefully) get this mount.

Also, I had someone pst me and said they have received 4 mounts from him. I had linked a burden I got from him and they pst me and said they have yet to get a burden at all but got 4 mounts off of Huolon. ._. That was a FML want to rage quit moment...

Totally griefing...oh he spawned. (Of COURSE he didn't drop the mount....again...)

FINALLY. It didn't drop for me, but a guildie got it and everyone knows how much I wanted it. He happily gave it to me so I FINALLY got this freakin mount. I want to cry...I think my sanity is gone.

Sadly, RNG is RNG :(

Just think back to how lucky you might have been on other things?

I have this same dilemma with both ZG mounts, we have done both bosses soooooo many time and not one drop from either, and we run it on our alts too. But on the other hand, we both have Onyxian Drakes, Ashes, and Azures and a FlameTalon... Go figure?

Just remember, Diligence is the mother of good luck ;) (B.F.)

Don't give up! I'm at over 60 kills by now myself. And I keep running into people who get the mount and tell me it was with under 10 kills or on their second kill and stuff. Worst was the guy who didn't even KNOW there was a mount to get... But my mounts tend to keep my waiting (over 100 kills for white hawkstrider and fiery warhorse). I camp Huolon on two servers and count my kills via Silver Dragon (it keeps track of how often I see a rare).

At least you dont have griefers on your realm who will take an albatross to the top of the tower on the bridge and pull him up there so no one else can get the tag x_x

Yeahh I know I'm in for the long haul on this one so I stopped rabidly camping him. XD I'm probably more around the 20-30 kill range.

HOWEVER, Bufo...I'm at like 20ish for him. GIMME YOUR BABY. D:<

Still no mount. :(

I installed Silverdragon the other day and am at 34 kills just on that. I know I did more than that before I downloaded it, so I guess I am between 70-90 kills. Though it could be more. Really wish I had kept up with the number from the start. ;-;

I have 2 of the companion pets, but only because they were given to me by a guildie. I am the pet crazy person in my guild. lol I get picked on for it. <.<

Don't give up, it is and stays total RNG. I had the mount dropping on my 6th Kill (like 2 days after the patch hitted) and then once again on my 11th Kill (total useless since I already learned the mount).

It will come eventually, this one came quite soon for me but other mounts took some longer to get.

Wow, I had No idea it was tradeable  Would I be able to get some more details?

Where you in group when he got the drop?

Where you present for the kill? (have a tag?) or just your guild mate?

How long did it have for to you be able to trade it?

You can trade the mount to anyone who got the same tag, group or not.

Yes, I was in group with a couple of my guild mates.

Where you present for the kill? (have a tag?) or just your guild mate?
Yes; I was the first one to hit Huolon...he makes me angry so I make sure I am the first when he spawns to smite him with Moonfire. xD

How long did it have for to you be able to trade it?
In blue text it states it is tradable up to 2 (1?) hour. As long as you share the tag with someone, grouped or not, you can trade it. When it finally drops for me, if my guild mate doesn't have it (since he gave his to me) I am going to give mine to him if we share the tag. If not, then I will happily give it to another person who has been hunting that bastard's mount forever. lol

Keep in mind guys...it's not tradeable anymore. Trust me, people tried with me, even when we both had the same exact tag. A GM told me and a guildie that stuff on the isle isn't supposed to be tradeable at all. None of it. Not the mount, not the gear. Pets they can't stop cause those are cageable. There is no blue text on the mount anymore. My fiance got his last night(before I did) and he tried to give his to me.

Congratulations on finally getting the mount!

I missed two Huo spawns last night by mere moments. After killing Cinder, I was riding down from the bridge and the server crashed. WHen it came back up, almost all the rares were up. I and a couple others had to deal with those champion guys that were on top of us when we logged back in and as I rode further down the hill, saw Huo was up and way over by the Yaungol pvp vendor guy. I got there as he was around 40% health, opened up on him and actually got the mount.

wow so many of us have gotten this mount! Is it still a rare drop or just that we are all very lucky? Seems atleast one person per kill gets this on my server.
