King Dred. A dumb question

Unread post by zedxrgal »

I had the unhappy pleasure on Saturday of being apart of the dungeon (Drak'Tharon Keep) run where King Dred is stomping around in. This big boy was tamable. Why doesn't it seem that anyone attempts to get him??
Is he just that hard to get to or what??
He's the same skin as Mosh but appears to be an easier find.

Eh, I suppose because you can tame two other of the same skin, one much easier and one much harder. There really isn't much demand for middle ground.

Actually Dred is harder than Mosh. Because Mosh just fears; dred can fear, do a crapload of damage and then som. He requires planning, and preperation. Tbh he would be best to practice on for Krush taming, than Mosh.

But yeah, he's a helluva lot harder than Mosh.

Oh? Well, I haven't tried Mosh or Dred, so I really was just going by what I inferred from others.

At the very least, Dred can be a potential candidate for a ?? after taming pet like the Beast, since in heroic mode he's ??, counted as 83 though.

The Dred I saw was level 75 elite. He was not heroic and no ?? in his name. The heroic Dred is not tamable.

And yes King Dred was brutal on the five man group. Beat the crap out of a lot of us and feared like mad. I honestly don't think I've even been feared that much in a short time. I've never encountered Mosh or Krush so I had nothing to base it off of. I was thinking it was more the hassle getting to Dred then overall toughness to tame.

Sorry for the second post but forgot to add all that till now.

As someone who tamed King Dred 2x now (once in the wrath beta and once on my 2nd hunter in live) its not too bad the set up I used was 1-2 other hunters for mds, a healer (preferably a shammy for hero or a priest for fear ward) and of course a tank incase you screw up and need a pick up on the boss. Its alot of work for a devilsaur who doesnt have a unique skin, but its honestly worth it to say you've tamed a boss.

Edit: My optimal set up would be a mm hunter to md, readiness md again, shammy healer for hero and earth shield, shadow priest for fear ward and some random tank. If you have friends willing to help any set up would work honestly...maybe a rogue using tricks if they're very careful about their timing with it, but I'd be iffly about that.
Ooo....shiny object....*wanders away*

Ive actually tamed him solo which isnt so easy. It's basically getting to the boss first and then you have to pull and individually tame all the raptors in the area hes in so you can go inside without worrying about being feared in there. I didn't have much haste on at that time so I was lucky he didn't fear.. it may have also been the time when BW wasn't nerfed but for me I got him tamed the first attempt.
It's kinda 3 in the morning so I am in a "zen" like state and can't recall right at this moment

i did tame him twice, on normal mode hoping he'll be higher then lvl 75 so that would save me a couple of runs to level him up, but both times he was lvl 74... ah well;)
Don't panic!
