Is it really Albino?

I've seen a lotta devilsaur threads lately and the white devilsaur is almost always called 'albino.' Now I'm curious, as I don't know much about albinoism, but I thought it was a complete lack of pigment--including in the eyes. So the devilsaur should be completely white, with no purple belly, and a purplish-red tint to the eyes, yes?

But then, I dunno about albinoism in lizards, so maybe I'm just being silly?

No, you're absolutely right. It shouldn't really be classified as albino, but I think just calling it so matches overall with its appearance and it's an easy form of reference. x)

I found this definition:

Albinism (from Latin albus, "white"; see extended etymology, also called achromia, achromasia, or achromatosis) is a congenital disorder characterized by the complete or partial absence of pigment in the skin, hair and eyes due to absence or defect of an enzyme involved in the production of melanin.

It says it can be partial.

Partial albinoism is spots without skincolour, not that the skin is albino, and the eyes normal and such.

I always thought albino crows and ravens were awesome. For being so known for their black plumage, pure white ones just seem so...cool.

That's an albino peacock. It's stunning though, they look amazing in white.

If you really want to get down to it, by reptile standards it's an albino. White skin, red or pink eyes. Even albino reptiles have colors other then white. True albino lack dark pigment. But shades of white, cream yellow and orange are represented and even some blue. The eye color is the true give away. Only true albinos have red/pink eyes.
And yes there is such a thing is reptiles as a lavender and purple albino.
