Okay guys...
I got another dilemma, this time involving my dear King Krush. I love him to death. He was a difficult tame, but I got him with my friend on his priest. It took two nights of camping (Which isn't too bad.) with about 3 or so hours each. I'm not that big of a devilsaur fan. I tamed him because of his unique skin and the fact he was actually a pretty difficult tame. He provided a challenge.
However, because I'm trying to solo more stuff, I find myself in temptation to find... yet another Spirit Beast. No, I hadn't planned on taming all of them, but I did find Gondria in less then 5 minutes for my friend. I got the two I love the most (Loque and Skoll), but another thing is that I may need to find myself a tenacity pet. I'm soloing more often and you can't do Magisters Terrace very well with a cat or wolf. >.< Even a Spirit Beast. A bear would make it so much easier.
I've even been contemplating to get a pet that might vanish in Cataclysm. Although I had mentioned I was gonna wait until Beta for that.
Pros:
- He'll be there in Cat. I can always retame him.
- I never use him. He's just a trophy pet.
- Even when I am BM, I tend to use either Skoll or Miyako (My Spirit Beasts)
Cons:
- He was a very difficult tame, I almost lost him to a couple of Alliance.
- He was hard to find in the first place, although he may be a bit easier in the expansion
- He's pretty to look at, and kinda fun to RP, even if I barely pull him out for that.
So, I guess I like getting others opinion. I am likely letting him go before Cataclysm, but do it now or wait for Beta to see which pets may be gone?

Re: Okay guys...
Your cons are nowhere near as good as your pros, haha! ;P Difficult tames mean they're not impossible, they're always redoable. =)
If you're not going to use him, and you don't feel a connection, by all means, let him go. You're absolutely right, there are always other chances, and if it's any consolation, you can say to yourself 'I tamed Krush.'. It's an amazing feat! I'm just lucky my favourite pet is my tanking pet.
My opinion would be to get a Tenacity pet. In MM, for example, any of my pets can tank, so long as I put a Misdirect on them first, but in BM, you can really see the difference. And there are some amazing skins out there, rare or not, so there's something for everyone. =)
^ This is the opinion from a VERY big Krush fan, but even I think you shouldn't keep a pet you don't want. =)

Re: Okay guys...
I agree. If you don't let him out to play, then it's almost cruel to keep him stabled up. Sure I have pets that I use more often, but I always make sure to let the rest out to stretch their legs, even if it's just while I do the fishing and cooking dailies. As for the spirit beasts, I have all 4 and honestly Arcturis is my least favorite. As for the bear part, all spirit beasts have the same talents, so Arcturis is a ferocity pet, not tenacity. What it boils down to, is no matter how difficult he was to find and tame, if you're not a good companion for krush, then he should be able to wander freely. Or... you can wait for the stable upgrades and get a bear then.

I agree with the others,if your not using him,let him go home...you can always go get him again...
I remember the only time I've ever seen King Krush alive...and I was on my mage alt at the time. lol Some other Mage was trying, unsuccessfully,I might add,to solo him. My friend and I,also on her mage alt "laughs"..proceeded to help the cute little gnome wear the big guy down. What a pain!! (this was before permanent WE and mirror images, btw!)
He kept fearing us into the Dreadsabers and Rhino's in the area, and I remember thinking that he was going to make mincemeat out of all of us...lol
Eventually,my WE and my friend managed to kill him...some 10 minutes later...lol! Nobody died, and the gnome mage left without even thanking us...le sigh
Sorry for the rant...or story....

Edit: Based on that one incident with King Krush,I vowed I would never tame him on my hunter...and I haven't!

Re: Okay guys...
I agree with everyone else, which makes me a bit sad in a way because I also have KK and love him to pieces. But, just because a pet was difficult to tame, doesn't mean it's a good reason to keep it. If that's the ONLY reason you have him, and you don't feel anything for him whatsoever besides, "Hey, look, I tamed KK," and there is something out there you want more, then you should let him go (as much as it pains me to say that, lol). Devilsaurs, and King Krush specifically, aren't for everyone. And, if you really are looking for a tough tame, you could always try to get The Beast if you think you'd like core hounds better!
Bottom line is, KK isn't going anywhere anytime soon. So if you end up missing him for whatever reason down the road, you can get him back.
Good luck in whatever choice you make!

Re: Okay guys...
A side note here as well.... A good reason to keep Krush (or one of the other Trexes) is that they are probably the best all-around dps for raiding, if you do any of that. Wolves can be better at times, but for fights where you have to move, and the Trex can chew on the boss, the Trex is better.

Everyone is going to dislike it but turtles are the best for hard hitting solo tanking, why, cower and shell shield both reduce thier damage recieved and you can pop one ability, then when it wears off pop the other, then back and forth till yer elite is dead, I solo'd all of Dragonblight elite grp quests with a turtle that way at lvl 75. I got a green one named him "Pokey" and with my vanity pet "Speedy" it's like a shelly family. -Unknowne-Elune

Very, very true; but c'mon who doesn't like dinosaurs!
Seriously though they're not going anywhere any time soon; I mean heck I've tamed Old Cliff Jumper three times now every time thinking "Eh he may be gone come Cata, must get him now."... then a few weeks later letting him go just because well I don't like old school worg models...
So, ya' I agree with previous posters... if you want him again you can get him.
