"Glyph of Greater Proportion", Yay or Nay?

Unread post by Aggannor »

So, I was looking through my stable the other day and when trying out some of my forgotten pets, I couldn't help but think that most of them felt little small. Thought this might be because of race of choice (trolls realy aren't the smallest ones), it got me thinking if there should be a glyph that made our pets a bit bigger (let's say something like 10%). I know we have the option to use Kibler's Bits that makes our pets 25% bigger, but atleast for me that feels little too much and I can't say that I'm a fan of that blue fog and having to use an item every 20 minutes. We also have the option to use Misdirection on our pets, as it now also increases size of the target by 15%, but to get the continous effect, we have to spam it every 8 seconds.

So my fellow hunters, what do you think? Am I alone whit my "issue" or do you think that "pet size increase" -glyph would be a good idea?

I think it should certainly be an option. But I'd never use it. I find my larger pets tend to get in the way when I'm looting or gathering. I tend to choose pets that are smaller, and closer to the ground because of this.

Very yes. My hunter is an Engineer, so I've got the Loot-a-Rang; no glyph needed. I want large beasts at my side at all times.

More options are always good, and as a glyph the people who don't want it/don't want to use won't have to. :) I for one certainly like larger looking pets a lot of the time so I'd probably use it on a hunter or two.

My only concern with it is the same reason devilsaurs don't grow in size anymore; some pets are already almost too big and get in the way of people actually trying to see mechanics and stuff in raids and whatnot. It's part of the reason I can't stand chimeras.

I'd love to have the option of a glyph like this, with the caveat that it automatically deactivate in a raid setting or dungeons or something like that, as overly large pets can inconvenience other players (which is probably why Chibee got shrunk down, since every hunter had to have it out in LFR back when he was enormous -_-)

I'd love it as an option, honestly.

But it would have to be a pretty minimal size increase or we'll have gigantic hippos and direhorns and chimeras running everywhere

I would say yes.

HOWEVER.
I would enjoy it more if pets themselves had glyphs. Like, I have pets that I'd rather be small while others I'd rather be normal sized (or bigger)

Siggy under construction!

Now THIS idea I could get totally behind!!!

I also have pets that I'd like to have at different sizes.

There are pets I rarely take out these days because they are big, and get in my way when looting.
My stable usually has a seagull or the mastiff ready to have handy when I am farming.

I don't think it's needed at all. Some pets are too big already. I wouldn't want to be a tank or Rogue having to deal with huge pets in their way.

In a related vein, a lot of the creatures summoned by Dire Beast are far too big.

if i recall there was a glyph to up size pets for the minor section, then a few patches ago they changed it to lesser - because people would tame glitched sized pets like the brain bug boss in AQ and sit in a major city like sw/org and stand over everyone to annoy shizless.

I'm just back in WoW now after three years off, and I remember when they reduced the size of pets. My pet of choice for the longest time was my red/orange devilsaur named Skittles. My guildmates and I used to laugh our tails off in battlegrounds - especially Arathi Basin - because when I'd hit Bestial Wrath, he'd just get HUGE and tear people apart.

I hate up-close combat (I know there's a word for it, but my brain's not working this morning), which is WHY I prefer playing a hunter, but my friends were paladins and rogues and they'd tell me they'd see people just run around like idiots when Skittles would show up LOL!

Seriously...what is the point of a devilsaur if it ain't HUGE?! I was so angry when one of the patches made him smaller:(

I run around with a spirit beast now (Loque'nahak right now), but I still pull Skittles out sometimes:)
