Gryphon Glitch Pet - Alliance confirmed only

Hey! So, I've been on break from WoW for a bit, but a friend of mine posted on tumblr about something rather exciting she saw and I've been picking her brain about it.

According to her, she saw a level 100 Night Elf Female Hunter from Moon Guard in the Southern Barrens, questing with an untargetable Gryphon that had no name or information she could see. My first thought was something like this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5UbBMG5WrI) but the model doesn't match, as she says it was a plain brown gryphon, not the updated model and not armored. She isn't into glitch pets like me, so she didn't get to take a SS or grab the hunter's name but she confirms it was acting like a hunter pet. It was also in flying mode, not running along the ground.

I'll update with any more information I can get that she remembers! I know many of you may be skeptical, but she made the post on tumblr as a passing remark not directed at anyone and I have no reason to believe she is lying to me. I also take glitch pet exploration pretty seriously, so I wouldn't make a post about it if I wasn't confident there was at least something to look at.

In addition, please do not post just to mention how untargetable pets are against ToS - I know, trust me! We all know. We had the fire pet glitch, but they simply changed the pet to a raptor to fix it and I've never seen anything to indicate anyone was banned or warned. I'd like to at least explore the gryphon pet possibilities with people interested in it, to see if we can figure out what caused it and maybe see if we can get it targetable!

Could be this one is the same! She only couldn't target it as the hunter ran around, she wasn't in combat with it. Don't know either way until more info can be unearthed.

It could be that the actual hitbox of the 'pet' wasn't actually on the model itself.. Maybe below or above it, and thus why it couldn't be targeted.

I almost wonder though if this glitch could relate to the old one where you could glitch the Flight paths into making it look to everyone like you were riding around on a gryphon when you were running about.

No idea! I'm not subbed and don't really want to resub at the moment, so I just let you all know everything I did if someone wanted to explore the possibilities of where it came from.

Well... crap. That's gonna be a lot to weed through... Are there any Engineers that may have some special goggles that might help us home in on those sneaky Night Elves? Or stray gryphons?

I'm trying to find a way to get a model # or skin name for the plain brown gryphons to search all the Wowhead mobs, but I have no idea how.

Ugh. That stupid bug got a friend's account banned and he had to fight like heck to get it back. I had it happen to me once in the old days and, trust me, the effect it had upon your camera was something you didn't want to endure for any length of time.

I'm going to say, that without any concrete proof, this reeks of your friend being very confused and most likely mistaken. If maybe your friend could give us a name, a screenshot, something... Then maybe I'd believe. Like really I want to believe because I'd love to tame a gryphon. Until we can get something to go on, I'm just gonna say your friend was confused and/or mistaken.

Calling this "Alliance confirmed only" is probably throwing some people off. I want to believe this, but I'd think someone else would have picked up on this by now (then again it took even Wowhead months (years?) to find those fire-druid-cat-seed-things in the Firelands raid when they were practically sitting in the open). I might poke around the Southern Barrens a bit on my Alliance panda and see if there's anything.

IF this isn't a hoax, which I'm 90% sure its is, it's possible a WILD GRYPHON from Hillsbrad Foothills could have bugged out or ...............something to allow a tame. They're neutral to alliance and horde, are beasts but never have been tamable. I doubt very seriously this is real though. Unless proof is provided and I mean legitimate proof, chalk this up to another trolling type hoax.

Dialga - Please edit your subject title to say something like "Gryphon Glitch Pet???" and removed the word confirmed from the title. Nothing has been confirmed.

This is literally impossible gryphons are untamable it would have to be a bug/hack unless gryphons have recently become tameable or if it was a summoned beast could it be tamed by an enemy player? If possible then there is your answer otherwise I'd say fake or hack/bug
