Petopians RP Night Two, Ideas

I plan to have next week (11 June, 2010) be another RP event. But! I need ideas on why we are all gathering again. Reading the post of last time, what do you think would make sense? Would be exciting? Would be fun? Please, post any and all brainstorming ideas here.

idk, something like one of the guildies was kidnapped by one of the alliance alts adn we have to go kill them and rescue the guildie.

If my sleep-addled brain can recall, the last time we left off our RP, we had gone out as explorers. Part of what we could bring to the next session could be what we had seen or done. Or what we had tamed out in the great wide world.

For instance to use my own toon, Shaon.

"I have been to Northrend of late. And not only have I encountered scourge and other creatures to terrify even the most stalwart, I have seen some awesome creatures." Shaon gestures to the large ghostly cat at her side. "This marvelous creature was known as Gondria. I have not discovered much of the lore behind this spectral feline, but I have a feeling that this is a remnant of a trollish god. I call him Shalim and feel honored to fight alongside him. I knew that when I heard of such a creature's existence, I had to go seeking."
The hunter makes a gesture and Shalim fades, recalled to the stables, to be replaced by a huge, squawking parrot. "And have you ever seen such a large and beautifully colored bird? This is Deva and I found her in Sholazar."

Shaon could go on to tell of how she had the chance to tame Mosh, which she never would have done without the help of the others in the group. Or of how she stumbled across one of the Basin's most reclusive residents of late, a tale which I am going to have to work into writing and post. In Sholazar, Loque'nahak hunted me.

The possibilities are open. What have you done since last we met in Grom'gol? What have you tamed? What have you seen? Did you come across an item of great power? Did you help another person reach a goal? Do you have a goal the group could aid in?

For instance; "I was in Brill and I heard of the Scarlet Crusade and a tauren at the inn there, who was just a wee bit on the sotted side, was raging about something. I sat down with him and he told me that he'd seen great red hounds among the Crusaders. They were badly treated and he wished he were more than one soul to go against the Crusaders. I would like to free one, but I am no rogue, and cannot slip into their hold unseen. Can anyone here aid me in rescuing at least one hound?"

I'll hit the wine shop in Dal, bring a few drinks for the event. Anyone else have an idea?

(( OOC Mode: Engaged! Well with the event looming closer and closer, I'll go ahead and put the background for tonight's event here: ))

As you walk the streets of (( choice town )), you notice a very young and frail looking blood elf following you. She takes no care to hide herself when you turn to look at her. She seems extremely pail, the shine of her eyes very faint. Raven black hair falls out from her head, covering one eye. Her age is fairly hard to discern, but it can't be over 18.

As you inspect her, she walks over to you. She curtsies, and holds out a sealed letter for you. Taking the letter, you look up to thank her (( or ask her more about her, etc. )) but before you can, she's already turned around and ran off. As she leaves you notice a mail bag bouncing next to her hip (( any pursuit of her by your character won't bring up much, just sayin' )).

Opening the letter, it reads as follows:

Dear Operative,

The Guild you joined weeks prior is having a gathering. At a hidden location, we shall have an exchanging of any and all knowledge gathered in the past few weeks. Do not disappoint me.

Signed, Ryno Raptorhorn.

As you read the letter, you notice very, very slight marks on the paper, as if it was used for test before, but the text had been removed. You suspect an experienced scribe could help find out what this parchment once said.

(( For the sake of simplicity, we'll use my druid as the "experienced scribe" your character is looking for. So I don't have to think up a new character. ))
Entering the shop, you see a large tauren, with jet black fur. Bits of mushroom and fungus grow on him at various places. That, coupled with the different herbs for inks, give the shop almost a mystical feeling, as if the fumes would give you an otherworldly experience if you breathed them too long. Little floating lights give the sense of an exotic place, and after awhile you realize the lights are actually very small sporebats.

The tauren turns to you, asking how he can help you. You explain the situation to him. He looks at the parchment carefully. And continues looking. To the point where you're ready to snatch it away and find someone else. But then he moves, sitting down at his work table. He takes a small vial out from a large group of them, removes the top, and begins dripping a yellow liquid onto the letter. He then takes out a small brush, using it on the parchment.

After awhile, you see the context of the letter disappearing, and the removed text becoming more defined. The tauren studies it for what feels like an hour, and then turns to you, explaining it looks to be dwarven text. He asks where you got this letter. You kindly tell him it is none of his business (( or rudely, at your character's discretion )). Snatching the letter away, you leave, taking in this new information.

(( Whew, that's that. Hopefully we can redirect anyone who's joining the RP tonight to this thread. Tell everyone you know who's coming to check here! ))

Nope, I think the idea behind the introductory background is just so you can get a better feel of what your character themselves may be thinking.

thank you But we can give them any background we want? like anything from a bored troll looking for adventure to a General in a war? well, maybe not that big, but still, I'd like to be a veteran of some sort... maybe and AB veteran...

Of course! It's your character. Naturally I'd stick to the basic courtesies of roleplaying (No god-moding, avoid being Illidan's long lost half cousin who is part vampire, etc, etc)
