Spirit Fox Cross Realm help ?
I don't suppose any players on low population servers would like to help other hunters out ? The way cross realm hopping works now, is there have to be two players in a particular realm, for any one else to join them in that area.
So that makes it a lot harder to find random server hops. So if anyone would like to volunteer that'd be awesome!

Re: Spirit Fox Cross Realm help ?
That may be a good idea, though because all old areas are now cross-realm anyway they could still well be very busy.
The least populated are probably RP-PVP realms. I don't know that they can really cross-realm those.

You can do it yourself.
1. Create a new character on a low-pop realm (I used an RP-PvP realm). to make things easier, use a class trial alliance hunter.
2. Scout the 5 spawn points using your new character. When you find the fox, create a group in LFG.
3. Log into your main, apply to join the group.
4. Log back into your new character, invite your main.
5. Log back into your main, accept the invite. You should now be on the realm with the spawn.

have you tried doing it this way lately? I thought the way they switched server hopping around required you to have two toons in an area before a third would be transfered over?

Yes, it's how I got the fox yesterday (my server was heavily camped).Talihawk wrote:have you tried doing it this way lately? I thought the way they switched server hopping around required you to have two toons in an area before a third would be transfered over?
I think there's an exception if the party leader is in the same zone. Without such an exception, grouping for world quests wouldn't work well.

Character which caught the fox was 110.Talihawk wrote:What level was the toon that caught the fox? Under 110?
Character on the low-pop realm was a fresh 100 class trial.

Re: Spirit Fox Cross Realm help ?
I tried the whole realm hop yourself technique but apparently you cant add toons on another license if they are on the same bnet. so i have to get a friend to start a group, both my toons join, make the realm hop toon leader and then it works. kinda convoluted but it worked with hopping. Turns out the realm i went to literally had it tamed within minutes of me hopping lol but at least i know i can hop successfully now.

This works SO fantastically but I didn't think of doing the step where you go back and invite yourself and made it open invite and someone stole my group LOL. Doesn't matter, I was able to get someone else to make a trial toon for me and invite me over and the fox was still there! Tamed and done.viaradda wrote:You can do it yourself.

I've tried two different RPPVP Servers and still can't find her. I've tried every spawn point and a targeting macro. Am I doing something wrong? I'm getting discouraged. I really want this pet ):

Re: Spirit Fox Cross Realm help ?
I did not go to a RP PVP server, I just chose a regular RP realm with low pop. A realm marked "new" might also be an option because there's a possibility they aren't yet merged with others.Peridot wrote:I've tried two different RPPVP Servers and still can't find her. Don't expect him to be up and sitting there just waiting for someone to come along. There's plenty of others looking for him through the same method (or maybe people from that server you're on) so this isn't an instant gratification thing. I will say I did NOT see any other players out there during the times I checked, and I did a /who Duskwood once and it said 0 for alliance. I checked 3 times over 3 hrs before I got my tame.
You do not need a target macro though it's a good idea to have one macroed for a quicker tame. The easiest way to find the fox is to fly/ride through the bushes at known spawn points (there's 6 or 7 now, the other thread has a map) with your sound on, and listen for the "stealth" noise (low wooshing sound). My Track Hidden did not show him but then again I was trying out TomTom and it's possible the location dot hid the pet's dot.

Re: Spirit Fox Cross Realm help ?
I think the few RP-PVP are coalesced/connected (whatever word you they used for realms they joined) anyway. I leveled a human to 10 on two of the rp-pvp realms because I thought they would be independent. I ended up testing by killing a spider on one, switching toons to join the different RP-PVP realm, and the spider was still dead there. This whole CRZ/connected realm stuff really befuddles me.
I got mine, oddly, on my own server though as a stroke of luck. It was the stealth noise that tipped me off as well. Thats usually fine but word of caution: If you're camping a single bush, do your heart a favor and don't pass the time by watching Hearthstone videos. A lot of the Hearthstone cards have stealth and use the same noise

Re: Spirit Fox Cross Realm help ?
The benefit of looking through RP-PVP realms is that they're only supposed to be merged with each other and they're generally low pop as it is. I don't get how realms connect either especially now that they've added in sharding (you'll often see it in Dalaran sewers). I don't even remember what realm I ended up picking, it was RP and low pop and when I did a /who and saw there was no one in Duskwood I thought it would be worth trying.
Oh, yes, the Hearthstone stealth cards make the same noise... that's pretty funny!
