Trial of Style starts NOW!

I did the trial of Style, and this outfit won me first prize. The theme at the time, "Winter Wear."


What about you all? What do you think of this new yearly? And which outfit won you first prize?

I think its pretty cool, though the prizes could be a bit better...but thats my opinion.

I went in for the first time this morning not knowing WTF I was doing. I threw together something in a panic when I realized there was a timer involved.
Then I freaked out because I thought my mog was getting messed up (Turns out, you are thrown into robes and a hood until it's time for the voting... Your mog is fine)
Didn't even place third, but had a great time! Gonna try again when I get home from work :>

Just a quick update: I won first place again for Trial of Style for two different themes; "Primal Style" and "Dark and Deadly." These were the two outfits that won them...try to guess which for which..

I was gratified to get first place on my main hunter, gnome hunter, and worgen druid with their everyday outfits. I only ran my warrior thru enough times to get the ensemble. Been trying to get the shirt on my mage and having a hard time, usually placing 2nd or 3rd. I leveled her mostly thru invasions, so have very little to work with. About ready to show up naked with a squid staff

First one was Primal Style in which I placed third. Second was Freestyle, I didn't place sadly. Third was Epic Purple, I placed second surprisingly... I literally BS'd my way through that one. Hoping I can actually place first for one.

None of the other holidays have rewards. I dont think the point of this is the rewards. But to each their own I'm having a blast lol

I have no interest in any of the sets but as I collect shirts with visible buffs, getting the shirt was worth it for me. You have to win to buy it though. Got my win on Champions of the Light by decking myself out the most metallic, glowing stuff I could find.

I am more than a little bit miffed about the Trial of Style. It's a micro holiday, and Blizzard said they weren't going to put rewards in for micro holidays... but here we are, with rewards for a micro holiday >:(

Once I stopped stressing about getting my shirt and re-completing my collection (and unlocking the mog sets (most of which I already had)) it was actually a lot of fun and a friend of mine queued together several times last night. We stopped because he got sleepy and I got bored, and I haven't gone back today (as fun as it is to watch the Stylish buff stack up, I imagine there are others who haven't gotten their shirt/mog yet). I wish more people were taking it... mmm, I'm not sure "seriously" is the right word, but in the couple hours I was doing it yesterday morning and last night, I didn't see one person whose mog made me go "yes, I am going to steal this look for one of my alts" and there were a lot of people who were... well, let's just say they had approximately as many actual mogged pieces on as Bowno did :P Made me giggle the first time, but after about the fourth I was tired of having to vote for/against them, lol.

As best as I can recall, these are three of the outfits that took first place on my hunter last night (I think the fourth was just my default mog in a freestyle, but I can't recall now). Primal, Winter Wear, and... I think Tabard Styles or whatever that one's called? Not Faction Pride, the one that's specifically for designing around a tabard (my leather wearing trial participant lost a LOT of tabard styles matches to players who didn't have a tabard equipped at all, sigh.)

This holiday has been so much fun so far! I love it. It feels really spontaneous and creative, and even if you don't come in first place the consolation prize is enough that it doesn't take very long to gather all the tokens you'd need either way. I've really enjoyed seeing the transmogs other people come up with, and I keep queueing for it even though I earned all of the rewards after the first day just to participate more.

I guess I should take some screenshots of my winning mogs, I'll try to remember to post later.

Some more first place wins with the Trial of Style. I tried my Lightbringer transmog on my Horde alt hunter and won it two different themes: "Winter Wear" and "Tabard Time". On my main, my updated Hunter of Light mogg won in both "Champion of Light" and "Tabard Time."
