Has anyone else noticed that some pets of the same types aren't the same specs? I've noticed in the alpha and now the beta that the dog you're given to start with is ferocity, and the dogs you can tame (I went for the demon dogs in BRD) are cunning? I was hoping it would be changed in beta, but so far it's not.

It's a secret they've hidden well; pets tamed are given a random spec. They are totally testing how it works by giving players a pet of the "wrong" spec, and letting wild ones use the "correct" spec. Get ready to tame that long spawn timer rare pet 10+ times to get the spec you want it to have!
On a serious note, I didn't even notice this. I go out and tame a red darkhound every time I start a beta character, so I never really looked at the starting pets.

Resident exploiter/bug finder that is currently looking for a bug that can safely be shared to tame unintended pets.
