How long have you been playing wow?

I started back in 2007 a week after i got let out of hospital after my rib surgery. I found it to be a great way to pass the 6 weeks of school i had of for recovery time. It was easy to play i did not need to get out of bed ( that was a really good thing as walking really hurt and don't get me started on going to the loo >.<) It all so help me with my stomach surgery i had in 2008 and the other bit of rib surgery in 2009 lol.

when and why did you guys start playing wow? i'm sure a lot of you guys did not start by haveing parts of your rib cage removed XD.

I started playing in June of 2007, just 'cause I wanted to try an MMO. Fell in love from the get-go.

I started back in june 2006. My ex-wife was playing it, and I started to play it so we could play together. Of course this was before I found out she was a whore, neglecting my daughter.......but that's another story. Sorry.

I've been playing for almost 5 years now.

My boyfriend and I started at the same time after one of his friends was telling us about the game and we decided to try it out. I'd never played an MMO before, but the idea intrigued me as well as the lore since I was familiar with Warcraft (my boyfriend always played the RTS games and I practically memorized them).

We started out Alliance side since that's where his friends were, but only made it to about level 30 before realizing we both wanted to play Horde. His friends didn't play so much anymore so we moved Horde and never looked back. xD

Pretty much right from the start. Initially I played on my sister's account as she had bought it right away and a month or two later I finally got my own after some urgings from friends to join up with them. At the time the game had been pulled from the shelves due to the overload of players so I had to get friends in the US to find me a copy so that I'd have a code to use.

I started playing pretty much the moment it was released. Back then I hardly knew what I was doing.
My paladin would run around in stuff with spirit, because then I'd recover health and mana faster. -.-

I remember how you could auto-run to your corpse, that was handy except when you ran into stuff. I remember while at Camp Taurajo and I first saw the Quilboar in the cage I was really worried that the guards would attack me if I tried to release him. I love those memories of when you're new and everything is so mysterious... I'll never get it back from WoW. *sniff*

I think I started about three years ago... I was visiting my cousin's house, and found him in the computer room playing WoW. I pretty much spent the whole time up there watching him play it and begging him to play it more when he logged off. Maybe a month or so afterward I created my first character - a little Night eEf druid named Sekai. I loved it. Walking throughout the massive purple forest, seeing all of these strange creatures, and my jaw dropping when I realized I was actually inside of a massive tree.

I really miss how amazing and mysterious the world was back then. I still get nostalgia trips when ever I hear Night Elf music.

I've been playing off and on for about 4 or 5 years. I honestly don't even remember the year itself. I just recall watching my younger brother playing around Thanksgiving time, and seeing him tame a crocolisk in Loch Modan.

I was so intrigued he let me start a character on his account, a gnome rogue named Dwezil, because I like goofy things and it seemed fairly absurd and fun. I was so amazed with everything I encountered.

Eventually he stopped playing and without a source of income myself I also had to stop. I missed it every once in a while, and one day about three years ago my good friend and neighbor in my dorm convinced me to install it, and he let me make a new character on his account to run around with for a while.

Then he stopped playing for a while, and when he got back into it he convinced me to actually invest in my own account so we would be able to play together. We ended up not playing together all that much, he has once again stopped, but I kept playing. Totally anti-social style up until I joined you all over here, but still, I got to 80 on my main and got to see all of this amazing stuff I never expected to and it has been a fun experience.

So, in summation (I hope most of you skipped directly down to this part) 4 or 5 years.

Started playing 3 months after launch. A buddy of mine suggested it cause the Wizardry series I had been playing got canceled. He sold me almost immediately and that first weekend I got the game. Rolled my first toon, a hunter and joined his guild. After the first introductions I felt really comfortable and then the GM tells me..."Here's a gold, a guild tabard, and Lil Timmy's Pea Shooter. Go out and we'll see you again at lvl 55." LOL, I was like WTF! But in the long run, I have to admit that it was probably the best thing that could have happened. The long grind to 55 on a PvP server no less was rich in experience and for learning how to solve problems, how to organize groups, and most importantly, how to run instances. On a side note to that, everything I read about Cata says that instances will be much more reliant on everybody doing their specific job as it was back in the early days. Can't wait for the elitists to find out skill is now greater than gearscore. No more power running through instances!

I started... ages ago. During vanilla, certainly, and before Dire Maul was added, I think.

I reached level 60 and was raiding ZG before I realsied that there was no +spelldamage gear, just +damage/healing or +healing. I kept trying to get people to let me roll on dam/heal gear as a healer

I miss the old days where it didn't matter if you were thick and crap, because EVERYONE was thick and crap. Now you need 50000000 gearscore and every achievement by level 8 or you're a scrub

The second week the original WoW was up and running, LoL. I take a break for a few months but something always keeps pulling me back LoL. With my kid and away from the house alot I let my nephew play his own characters on my account and jump on for a day when I get off, LoL.

February 2005. And it was only in the middle of MC that I realized that Multishot could be used on a single target. My DPS suddenly saw a significant increase

And even more so when I learned that there is such a thing as rotation. In BWL, yeah.
