Heirlooms and skills

Unread post by MaximumOverdrive »

This might've been brought up before but I'm not sure.

I was wondering if anyone knew about anything involving training in weapon skills? Do we still need to do it in Cata? I mostly ask because I got a build up of heirlooms for my future worgen hunter, but when I see the starting screen, they start with a gun, and I have the bow for them. Will all weapon trainers do all weapons now or am I gunna have to run to somewhere uber far before I can even use my heirlooms?

No idea.

But chances are, if you have access to heirlooms, you have access to gold and therefore mages.

:D

Yes, but Worgen and Goblins are going to be starting in instanced style zones like DK's do now. That means they won't be able to port around at first.

Still, not being able to use heirloom weapons at first won't hinder you too much. As long as you have access to a mailbox for the other heirloom stuff, you should be fine. You'll just have to make do with vendor bows/guns till then.

On a side note, will Worgen have "silver bullets" for ammo to go with those guns? ;)

Chances are, Blizzard has thought of this and will toss in a weapons master in the starting area as necessary. I mean, they had the foresight to throw a mailbox into the phased death knight area for a reason, right?

Actually, I do believe they said they're getting rid of weapon skills(since it's part of the whole Defense system they're dumping) and everyone will know all the weapons their class should know at the start.
